Course description: Communication Research for Multimedia is a course that presents the relationship between research and conceptualization in the field of communication. The course teaches the process by which communication research is designed, conducted, interpreted and critically evaluated.

Course description: This course introduces a variety of research methodologies based on the social-scientific and interpretative paradigms, relevant to the field of multimedia communication. The course also deals with the application of the research results to the creation of a concept for a multimedia Developmental Project .

Course description: The Developmental Project will be completed over several terms, using the skills that the students will learn in their subsequent subjects. The specific purpose of this course is to teach the students to select and conduct the correct research method/s to generate valid data to serve as the basis for a multimedia project.

COUrse objectives: At the end of this course, students will be able to: Define the different communication research methods applicable to multimedia arts; Identify the type of research method applicable to generating specific data; Apply the appropriate combination of research methods to generate specific data; Analyze the validity of data generated based on the applied research method; Evaluate the relevance of the data generated to the intended application; and Create a multimedia project proposal based on valid data generated through research.
