Elicit (Reviewing previous lesson) (The teacher shows picture). Which of these pictures show a name of a things? Persons? Places? What do you call these? (The teacher presents a chart with sentences that contains noun.) 1.The boys play basketball every day. 2.The dog chased the ball across the yard. 3.She bought a new laptop for her work.

B. Engage (Establishing Purpose of the lesson) Magic Box The learners will get an object from the box and tell something about it. The teacher will write the words or sentences on the board, then the learners will read them. Ask questions: Have you seen a caterpillar? What is its color? Are the caterpillars harmful? Why?

Let the pupils read the paragraph “The Caterpillar”. One day, there was a caterpillar eating some green leaves. “So many good things are green,” he said. “I wish I were a green”. “Green is great! The caterpillar thought red was nice too, “I’m not green or red. I’m just plain,” he said sadly. Just then the caterpillar saw a beautiful blue dragonfly. “What a brilliant blue dragonfly you are,” said the caterpillar. “I wish I were blue, “he said sadly . The caterpillar wrapped himself in his cocoon and fell asleep, dreaming of colors. He dreamed of green and red, a blue, and yellow. When he woke up, something wonderful happened! The caterpillar had turned into a beautiful colorful butterfly. No one ever said he was plain again.

QUESTIONS: What is the story all about? What does he feel after saying about his color? How many colors are mentioned? What word describe the dragonfly? What about the butterfly? What do you call these words? Adjectives are words that describe or modify noun or pronoun. Adjectives tell color, shape, size, smell and numbers.

C. Explore (Presenting examples)   The teacher divides the class into three groups. Each group will be given a task for them to answer.

B. Identify and underline the adjective used in the sentence. The young boy climbed the mango tree. The friendly teacher greeted me at the store. The good doctor listened to the nurses.

With their group-mates, let the pupils use appropriate adjectives to describe the following in one sentence. - favorite flower -a mother and child  

C. Explain Adjectives - are words that describe or modify noun or pronoun. Adjectives - tell color, shape, size, smell and numbers.   In group A, the adjective furry describe the noun cat, the adjective soft describe the noun pillow, green describe the noun yard. In group B, the adjective young describe the noun boy, friendly describe the noun teacher. What are the instances that we can use adjectives in our daily lives?  

Making Generalization What is an adjective?   Adjectives are words that describe or modify noun or pronoun. Adjectives tell color, shape, size, smell and numbers. Descriptive Adjectives give a clearer picture of nouns or pronouns in the sentences.  

Activity: Identify and box the appropriate adjective to complete the sentence. 1.We enjoyed a ______ meal at the new restaurant. (delicious, high, fragrant) 2. The butterfly landed on the _____ flowers. (colorful, kind, strong) 3.They were amazed by the _____ scenery. (wooden, beautiful, short)

IV-Evaluate Direction: Identify and underline the adjective used in the sentence. 1.The young boy helped his father to wash the dirty car. 2.The pretty girl twirled in her new dress. 3.The clean windows shone in the sunlight. 4.The tall tree swayed gently in the wind. 5.She wore a beautiful dress to the party.

V. Extend/Assignment Direction: On your paper, write sentences using the following adjectives. 1.bright 2.famous 3.colorless
