Seven Types Of Gender Inequality
1.mortality inequality In some regions in the world ,inequality between women and men directly involves matters of life and death and takes the brutal form of unusually high mortality.
2.natality inequality In this type of inequality a preference is given boys over girls that many male dominated societies have gender inequality can manifest itself in the form of the parents wanting the newborn to be a boy rather than a girl.
3. basic facility inequality There are many countries in Asia , Africa and Latin America, where girls have far less opportunity of schooling than boys do. Women have deficiencies of basic facilities to cultivate their natural talents to fair participations in rewarding social functions of the community.
4. special opportunity inequality Even when there is relatively little difference in basic facilities including schooling, the opportunities of higher education may be far fewer for young women than for young men.
5.professional inequality Another inequality found in men and women is the matter of employment and promotion. Women often face greater handicap than men. Japan is a country which makes no difference between men and women in matter of higher education, but in matter of employment and occupation which seems to be much more problematic for women than for men .this is the unequal treatment of people based on gender, sexuality ,age, disability, religion, height, weight, accent, or ethnicity in the workplace.
6.ownership inequality In many societies the ownership of property is also very unequal. Even basic assets such as homes and land may be very as asymmetrically shared by him and women. The absence of claims to property cannot only reduce the voice of women, but also make it harder for women to enter and flourish in commercial, economic and even some social activities.
7. household inequality Household inequality is directly related to racial, social, income and wealth inequality. It is often the results of market forces, discrimination and segregation. In many societies, it is taken for granted that while men will naturally work outside the home, women would do household duties at home.
