Tux and the Places He Visited
The first place that Tux visited was New York. In New York he went to my aunt s workplace,
tourist attractions, rode the subway, and to my aunt s college. Tux enjoyed the Brooklyn Bridge,
Yankee Stadium, Manhattan, The Bronx, and he must have enjoyed going to the Statue of Liberty,
Times Square, and playing in Central Park. New York has plenty of tourist attractions and is filled
with things to do on every turn. The main languages are English, Spanish, and many more. The
type of government is a democracy, and the currency is the U.S. dollar. Major religions are
Christians and the fastest way to move around is to take the train or subway.

The period form 1774 to mid 1777 was spent in Salzburg where he worked as a Konzertmeister at
the Prince Archbishop s court. He wrote many of his works during this time. Seeing limited
opportunity in Salzburg, he left with his mother to Munich and Mannheim. No post was offered
here either. His father then sent him to Paris with minor success only with his Paris Symphony
no.31, deftly designed for the local taste. So, Wolfgang returned home alone. His mother had
died in Paris. The years 1779 80 were spent in Salzburg playing in a cathedral and at court. He
finally landed his big break when he wrote the Opera Idomeneo as a commission for Munich (
Mozart Grove ) Though there was conflict between him, his employer, and the Archbishop. So in
May 1781 he resigned or was kicked out of his job. Wolfgang continued made a living as part time
teacher, composer, and performer for various events. He married Constanze Weber in 1782. Also
in 1782 and the following few years, Wolfgang wrote six string quartets all dedicated to the
master of the form, Hayden. Hayden once told Mozart s father that Mozart was the greatest
composer known to me in person or by name; he has taste and, what is more, the greatest
knowledge of composition ( Mozart Grove ). He wrote 15 piano concertos before the

Texas is the second largest State in the United States consisting of 261,914 sq. miles. When you

the weather and climate of Texas past. We will start in the decade of 1940 s and move to 50 s and

Theme Of Superstition In PetroniusThe Satirycon

Superstition Within Petronius The Satirycon
Written during the 1st century A.D., the Satyricon is often referred to as the first Roman novel.
The novel has only survived for us in fragments, and for this reason it is impossible for the modern
reader to reconstruct its plot completely. However, the Satyricon serves as an invaluable source of
information about the daily life and language of the Roman populace. Petronius deliberately
reproduces plebeian language and slang, offering a rare insight into everyday Roman life, which
polished and refined works leave absent. Petronius focuses on the large social gap between the
freed slaves and scholars of the time and how superstition can show that gap. The main scene that
superstition is shown is during Trimalchio s Feast.
The scene in the novel titled as Trimalchio s feast, describes an elaborate dinner party hosted by
Trimalchio, a businessman and immigrant who gained riches in Rome without any elegance or an
education fit for an aristocrat of the time. This section has been preserved more completely than
some of the more fragmented chapters of the novel, its themes and motifs are able to develop more
fully and be more closely understood as Petronius had originally intended. It could be interpreted
within different chapters and scenes of the feast as focusing on the large social gap between Rome
s freed slaves, and the well educated scholars whom they aimed to mimic. Although, this

Cultural Identity And Identity
The Sociological Imagination contrived by C. Wright Mills defines that every individual is
deeply connected to society as a whole, thus we are all in turn shaped and affected by society.
One s personal problems is not just a personal matter, but rather a societal one. (Mills, 1959)
When I look at my life, I think that it is clear to see that my personality and circumstances have
been influenced by social constructs. Being a second generation Canadian with a biracial
background, my life has been shaped in its own unique way. Growing up in a multicultural family,
it has been quite difficult to find my own cultural identity. This can be identified as an individual s
own problem, however, by using the sociological imagination you can see... Show more content on

I had lots of opportunities to see how someone s cultural background can affect his or her social
class. For example, my mother who comes from once a socialist country still believes that you
are not supposed to show off. For her jewelry, car or latest cell phone seems to be on the bottom
of the priority list. On the other hand, my father, who comes from a previously communist country
that seems to be currently following capitalist values and trends, would love to have an expensive
car or a latest cell phone and camera because all these things, in his belief, show one s social status.
From my earliest childhood I witnessed their conflicts and arguments about what we needed for the
household. This further created the idea of separate identities for myself one leaning more towards
the Chinese side and culture and the other towards the western philosophies and ways.
Religion
Another area that was quite confusing when I was growing up was religion. Both my parents,
being from socialist/communist countries do not have any religious background. I remember my
mother saying that my grandmother was a teacher, therefore they were not able to celebrate
Christmas. They could decorate their Christmas tree after December 25th to celebrate New Year.
However, since I was a young child we were celebrating lots of different holidays, among others
both Catholic and Orthodox Christmas (my

Fake News in our democracy and even to the individuals. In this 21st century, there is the huge

out the real ones and fakes ones. Easy access to online and social media has make people life
easier. People today s are totally depend on social media for any kind of news and they are most
trustworthy towards those news. Unfortunately among much trustworthy news there is some
news that is fake. With the increase of the followers of social media it is becoming more difficult

Women in Hills like White Elephants and The Yellow...
Through history women have fought for equal rights and freedom. This tension is derived from
men; society, in general; and within a woman herself. In the nineteenth century, women in
literature were often portrayed as submissive to men. Literature of this period often characterized
women as oppressed by society, as well as by the male influences in their lives. This era is
especially interesting because it is a time in modern society when women were still treated as
second class citizens. Two interesting short stories, Hills like White Elephants and The Yellow
Wallpaper focus on a womans plight near the turn of the nineteenth century. Both authors,
Hemmingway and Gilman, leave an open end to the stories and allow readers to create... Show more

Instructed to abandon her intellectual life and avoid stimulating company, she sinks into a still
deeper depression invisible to her husband, which is also her doctor, who believes he knows
what is best for her. Alone in the yellow wallpapered nursery of a rented house, she descends into
madness. Everyday she keeps looking at the torn yellow wallpaper. While there, she is forbidden
to write in her journal, as it indulges her imagination, which is not in accordance with her husband
s wishes. Despite this, the narrator makes entries in the journal whenever she has the opportunity.
Through these entries we learn of her obsession with the wallpaper in her bedroom. She is
enthralled with it and studies the paper for hours. She thinks she sees a woman trapped behind the
pattern in the paper. The story reaches its climax when her husband must force his way into the
bedroom, only to find that his wife has pulled the paper off the wall and is crawling around the
perimeter of the room.
Hills Like White Elephants and The Yellow Wallpaper are both about couples dealing with a
delicate situation in a time when the power of men over women is obvious. The characters in both
stories show that the man has more control and authority than the woman. Hills Like White
Elephants demonstrates this through the use of the setting, time restrictions, and poor
communication exhibited by the couple. In The Yellow

Designing A Quality Product For The Longest Ice Retention
When you sit and see the outdoor industry being flooded with all these new cooler brands, you
wonder what really sets the coolers apart? After all they are still just and insulated box or cup
that keeps you drink cold. The main difference between the different brands is the type of
insulation or the quality of the seals and workmanship to make a quality product that allows
little energy to escape. There are a few questions that we have that we hope to find the answer
too hear they are in the following few sentences. With the high prices of these coolers, what is so
special besides the quality? Does the type of insulation really affect the performance of his
cooler? We are about to find out which cooler is the best to buy if you are willing to splurge and
spend the money. To test this question of what brand and insulation type allows for the longest
ice retention, we are going to test six different brands coolers and see what performs the best.
The way that we are going to test the ice retention part is simple. We will fill each cooler with the
same amount of ice by volume of all of the coolers. For example, if we have a 60 quart cooler and
we fill it with 60 pounds of crushed ice, then we would fill the one gallon cooler with one pound
of crushed ice. This allows for their to be a constant. We will then leave all of the coolers that we
are testing in the same place. Next, to check the temperatureof the inside of the cooler we will open
the coolers at the same time every

also been effected by a change in weather conditions in the area which could affect crops or

Essay about Variations in Animation in Different Cultures
Animation in different cultures
Animation has a variety of differences between Japanese culture and the culture of the United
States. While animation is usually made for the sole purpose of entertainment for children in the
United States, Japanese animation, also known as anime as it is referred to both in Japan and in
the West, is a form of media that is enjoyed by people of all ages. Unlike the Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles and SpongeBob Square pants, both very popular American animations shows in their times,
anime focuses more on drama and other non childlike qualities. The differing cultures of the United
States and Japan can be considered the main factor to the huge differences in their own respected
animation styles.

With the rapid spread of television in the 1960 s, Japanese animators found a new way to sell their

Astro Boy, seeing success in western countries such as the United States and Europe. Another
popular series from this time period was Tetsujin 28 go or Gigantor. Unlike the cartoons being

Jetsons, Astro Boy and Gigantor focused on bigger, more mature issues. Cartoons in the United
States aimed more at entertaining children with superheros thwarting criminals, and both
prehistoric and futuristic comedy. These types of cartoons were never meant for anything other
than entertainment with a small side of morality lessons put in for good measure. While
entertaining, very rarely did the cartoons that were from the United States create critical thinking or
questions about morality amongst their young viewers.

Political Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm
In global political scenario, December 30, 1921 is, arguably, one of the most important days of the
20th century. On this particular day, an unprecedented history was created; Union of Soviet
Socialist Republics (USSR), world s first socialist state was born out of the historical Great
October Socialist Revolution . In the long run, USSR/ Soviet Unionwas not the perfect nation by
any means, yet it s hard to deny the fact that unprecedented changes happened in the world, directly
or indirectly, because of its historic creation, imposing presence, and major league influence in
global politics until its ultimate demise in 1991. Like the political scenario, world literature was
also changing its face during mid twentieth century, and the issue of communismhad become one of
the prominent subjects in the writings of that time. Animal Farm, a novella written by a popular
20th century English writer George Orwell, is both an allegory and satire of the socialist state of
Soviet Union. His own experience of fighting against the totalitarian communists in Spain in 1938
turned Orwell into one of the most astringent critics of Joseph Stalin and his corrupted autocratic
regime in the Soviet Russia. Widely considered as one of the best books of 20th century, Animal
Farm is written in simple language but is vastly rich of allegories and satire. I have chosen this
literature for my research paper, and I will be using it to argue that even though Orwell criticized
the socialist

Architect Louis Sullivan s Views On Architecture
Since the dawn of Modern Architecture, the use of ornamentations on structures has been
questioned for its purpose. Many buildings, from Greek or Roman temples, to our modern day
skyscraper can be recognized as having ornamentation. Mass and proportion have been cited as
being the priority of a design. Architect Louis Sullivanbelieves ornamentation should have a
purpose and be integrated the relationship of the building s structure. The Hollyhock House s
harmonious use of ornamentation does not distract from the mass and proportions of the building
and therefore aligns with Architect Louis Sullivan s views on ornaments in architecture. Before
finding out what Louis Sullivan s views were, we must look at why his theory would be able to
hold such weight. Born on September 3, 1856 in Boston Massachusetts, Louis Sullivan was
considered by many to be one of the fathers of modern architecturein America (Louis Sullivan).
Sullivan began his career as an architect when he partnered with Architect Dankmar Adler,
producing 100 building collaborations in their 14 year partnership (Louis Sullivan). Chicago was
seen as the proving grounds for an era of architecture we now call Modern Architecture. Sullivan
helped lead this era with his involvement in the architecture group called Chicago School. This
group of architects were pushing the envelope on what is possible to be created with modern
materials (Chicago). They paved the way for the development of skyscrapers with the

To appreciate the fall of the Maori to appropriation, one must understand their origins. Most
scholars agree MД Ѓori arrived to New Zealand sometime between 1000 and 1300 AD; some
evidence suggests an even earlier arrival. MД Ѓoris named the new land Aotearoa, meaning Land of
the Long White Cloud. , a fitting name for a promising new land. MД Ѓori society was tribal; Each
person belonged to a family (whanau), a sub tribe (hapu), and the full tribe (iwi). Perhaps it was
their strong tribal ties that allowed the Maori to weather extended conflict, continuing to thrive
well before European influence touched the continent. The first European to see New Zealand
was a Dutchman called Abel Tasman, who arrived in 1642. Early travelers clashed violently with
the natives and were not keen to return. The unpleasant first impression fresh in memory, the land
was dubbed New Zeland after a Dutch province, and left relatively untouched until 1769. It would
be the ocean s bounty that would entice Europeans back to the continent towards the end of the
18th century. First came the sealers, followed by the whalers at the beginning of the 19th century.
These sailors began to cut wood from New Zealand for masts and spas, over time settlements
began to sprout. Europeans began buying land from the Maori. The white population of New

Film Analysis Of Spirited Away
Spirited Away is an Oscar award winning, 2001 animated film from Japan, written, directed, and

Chihiro is not taken seriously, and this may have been because of her gender. Often times it
common for males to be taken more seriously, especially in children s and tweenager media. This
plot point would create an early internalization that her ideas and values are not as valid as her male
counterparts.
Another instance in which Chihiro is seen without being afforded agency is in her first
encounter with Yubaba. There are multiple instances of the power dynamics that exist between
the tween character and her elder. When Chihiro initially asks Yubaba for a job at the bathhouse,
her mouth is transformed into a zipper that is shut so she can no longer speak (00:36:20). While
Yubaba zips Chihiro s mouth she calls her a useless weakling . This assumption is made from
simply looking at her seeing as Chihiro and Yubaba have had no prior interaction. The forced
silencing of Chihiro demonstrates that she, as a tween, does not have any valuable input, and is

Sherlock Holmes Vs Duin Research Paper
Sherlock Holmes and Dupin are both very good detectives, however they both have their merits and
disadvantages. In this essay I will argue that Sherlock Holmes makes a better Detective than Dupin.
Dupin is arrogant, selfish, and imaginative, while Sherlock Holmes is Selfless, Confident, and he is
also imaginative like Dupin, but he does not let that imagination interfere with is work. Even
though Dupin and Sherlock Holmesboth have merit with imagination, Sherlocks ability to not let
his imagination interfere with his work and his selflessness makes him a better detective, even
though he may not always get his case right. Dupin is a very arrogant person an observation is

Holmes usually investigates and solves cases just for the fun of it and he never really asks for a

Holmes last good quality is his confidence, though it sometimes can get him into trouble it

Analysis Of The Film Dunkirk
In Christopher Nolans most recent film, Dunkirk, he tells the story of allied soldiers being
evacuated from Belgium, after the Germans surrounded them, also know as Operation Dynamo.
As a huge fan of Nolan already, I thought this movie was a masterpiece. This was his first movie
based on a war, and he did a great job retelling the history. He used an approach that had the actors
use very little talking, and relied on the music and visuals to tell the story. The plot of Dunkirk
revolves around the largest evacuation in military history, and involves troops across all allied
nations. Nolan has three major settings for his movie, air, land, and sea. The air setting shows
Tom Hardy as an allied pilot, providing protection to the beaches as troops attempt to load naval
vessels. There are scenes where he is in dogfights with German planes, and he eventually gets shot
down. The land setting involves the allied troops attempting to evacuate the beach with only a few
naval vessels supporting the operation. There is constant chaos and confusion during the process,
and many soldiers attempt to sneak on boats or escape on their own. Finally on the sea, there are
parts where naval vessels have to deal with attacks from German airplanes, and some boats get sunk
during the mission. There is also a time where it shows British civilians using their own personal
boats to come to the rescue of the troops. Throughout the movie there is constant conflict ranging
from equipment failure, to

Radiologists are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries
using medical imaging techniques, such as x rays, computed tomography (CT) or (CAT), magnetic

Computed tomography, commonly known as CT or CAT scan, is a painless, non invasive
diagnostic tool that uses a specialized form of X ray coupled with computer technology to produce
cross sectional images (slices) of soft tissue, organs, bone and blood vessels in any area of your

However, for some tissues, a MRI image is not as clear as that of a CT. It is more difficult to
differentiate inflammation and scar tissue from tumors on a MRI image. Also, it generally cannot
be used on anyone who has metal implants in their body. People who have a difficult time in close
places sometimes have a hard time coping with the MRI. The MRI is also more expensive than the
CT.
In the same way, the images in the PET scan are not as clear as with the CT scans and MRI, so
sometimes localizing the exact place of the increased activity can be a problem 2) it takes more
training to learn to read them well 3) since inflammation shows as hot on a PET scan, if there is a
lot of inflammation present it can obscure other activity on the scan and 4) it tends to work better
for higher grade tumors and metastasis, as well differentiated tumors have less metabolic activity
(they are usually growing more slowly).
To summarize, the current wave of the future is a new type of scan that combines the technologies
of CT and PET. Superimposing the images of function on structure seems to give the best of both

Personal Assessment Of Strengths And Areas For Development
What did you learn about your leadership? Personal Assessment of Strengths and Areas for
Development. I have more than one overdone strengths. One of them is over optimism about
people, organization, and trust in the management team. Whether it s upper level, or middle
management, I always feel that they know the best, and they know what they are doing. I only
see that everything is done accurately as they are versus how they could or should be.
Remaining loyal to others and the organization does cause issues for me, because others don t
normally see it that way. Trying to make things easier for others, or trying to be less of a burden
on others is perceived as I have no backbone of myself. Defending the rights of others is seen as I
m just always siding with the others. Ensuring others are valued is seen as what do I need from
them. Being sincere is seen as I don t know what I m doing, and am very easy to please, so I can
be ignored. Involve family and friends to point out to me when I m over using my strengths. This
will make me aware of what I really need to concentrate on. This will help me focus and align my
strengths on the needs of everyone, and the organization, and concentrate on other people who have
complementary strengths. Realization that my overdone strengths could in fact be detrimental to
not only my progress, but also others. In general, overdoing it may hurt my effectiveness just as

What Is Frank And April s Influence On The American Dream
In Post World War Two, America shot out of the Great Depression thanks to some government

Cor pulmonale is a condition associated with diseases of the lung (e.g., COPD, fibrosis, etc.), where
either the altered structure or the malfunction of the right ventricle arises from pulmonary

pressure, which causes hypertrophy of the right ventricle and lowers cardiac output. Overall, cor

Tracing the Origins of Mardi Gras
The origins of Mardi Gras can be traced to medieval Europe, passing through Rome and Venice in
the 17th and 18th centuries to the French House of the Bourbons. From here, the traditional revelry
of Boeuf Gras, or fatted calf, followed France to her colonies.
On March 2, 1699, French Canadian explorer Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville arrived at
a plot of ground 60 miles directly south of New Orleans, and named it Pointe du Mardi Gras when
his men realized it was the eve of the festive holiday. Bienville also established Fort Louis de la
Louisiane (which is now Mobile) in 1702. In 1703, the tiny settlement of Fort Louis de la Mobile
celebrated America s very first Mardi Gras.
In 1704, Mobile established a secret society (Masque de la Mobile), similar to those that form
our current Mardi Gras krewes. It lasted until 1709. In 1710, the Boeuf Gras Society was formed
and paraded from 1711 through 1861. The procession was held with a huge bull s head pushed
alone on wheels by 16 men. Later, Rex would parade with an actual bull, draped in white and
signaling the coming Lenten meat fast. This occurred on Fat Tuesday.
New Orleans was established in 1718 by Bienville. By the 1730s, Mardi Gras was celebrated
openly in New Orleans, but not with the parades we know today. In the early 1740s, Louisiana s
governor, the Marquis de Vaudreuil, established elegant society balls, which became the model for
the New Orleans Mardi Gras balls of today.

Siddhartha River Analysis
Siddhartha
By Hermann Hesse LAP by Frank Palma
Topic 3
Insignificant droplets of water plunging to the ground, gradually elaborating into a system which
proclaims its existence with such scintillation and momentous significance, the river. The river
that carries the same inexorable rate which we live our lives by, parallels to the current of an
unstoppable river. Shifted to different directions by the different obstacles encountered, the river
finds different routes to get to the destination it desires and life mimics its nature as many avenues
close and others open. But the river carries on and does not pass through the same obstacle twice,
it does not struggle or brawl the happenings opposed to it, it simply takes another path and learns
from its mistakes. The river symbolizes life. In the book Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. The river
plays a significant role on a reflective surface which redirects his actions into the eyes of the
protagonist, Siddhartha. Born as the Brahmins Son, Siddhartha was surrounded by the luxuries
and privileges of someone that has a supreme role in the caste system. The concept of Siddhartha s
life is represented by the river comes into motion as we see the river being implemented in the
early stages of the book as Herman Hesse describes Siddhartha s childhood. Different actions, his
childhood revolved around the river that Siddhartha grew up in but most importantly he performs
his rituals and his holy offerings. Suntanned

In the January 18th, 2012 New York Times article The False Ideals of the Web , Jaron Lanier
attempts to take a very difficult issue one that many view in terms of black or white and find some
middle ground. Unfortunately, what he ends up doing in the article is create an either/or situation,
rather than find any middle ground. In the end we are left in the same situation that we started
with. In the first paragraph, Jaron appeals to the pathos of the reader; he assumes that the reader is
of the generation that has grown up in the digital age, thus they would agree that the most important
aspect of the internet is the people who contribute to it. However, there is no reason to ever assume

He assumes that the reader will accept his word that the legislation deals with this issue using
the mentioned method. In a way, this can be considered a bandwagon fallacy, in that we re
supposed to accept that because he and his colleagues think the bill uses draconion methods, it
does in fact use them. Without support for this statement, there is no reason to ever believe what
the author has said. In addition, the author appeals to the readers ethos, as well as an appeal to
authority, in that we re expected to accept the opinions of these people, simply because the
author says we should. The author then goes on to state, Those rare tech companies that have
come out in support of SOPA are not merely criticized but barred from industry events and
subject to boycotts. We, the keepers of the flame of free speech, are banishing people for their
speech. The result is a chilling atmosphere, with people afraid to speak their minds. It s hard to
see, but this is definitely a fallacy of equivocation. The author is comparing the corporations who
wish to make it illegal to upload user content if it contains anything they have made. Under this
model, electronic musicians would not be allowed to make the music they make, simply because
they use samples from other artists. Under this model, Apple would not be allowed to distribute
their operating system, simply because they have used code from FreeBSD.

Similarities Between A Streetcar Named Desire And Death Of...
Contrast and Compare how Miller and Williams explore The Theme of Madness in Death of a
salesman and A Streetcar Named Desire .
Miller s Death of a Salesman and Williams Streetcar Named Desire both explore how the two main
protagonists, Willy Loman and Blanche Dubois cannot adjust to the new society which has
changed drastically around them. Willy Loman is a father, desperate to hold on to the life he once
lived when he was younger. Throughout the play, we see how Willy s state of mind deteriorates as
the play goes on. Likewise, A Streetcar Named Desire portrays the ways in which Blanche, who
represents old values in the old world who believes women should be treated as ladies, attempts to
hide from the reality which she is unable to avoid. Stanley, on the other hand, represents the new
values and is a reflection of reality for Blanche in the way he treats her.
In both playwrights the protagonist s fragile state of minds are introduced from the beginning.

fantasy world which he is confortable in, presenting the new society as a negative one for Willy.

Sound And Music By Wilfred Owen
In the scientific world, sound has been used for many purposes. One of them is to find the depth
of the sea using sound waves. Similarly, in the world of literature, sound or music is used to
convey the deeper meaning of the writing. It takes the reader to a different level of
understanding, which brings out the reality behind the words. Sound plays an important role in
one s life, and so it does in literature. Without sound or music, the literature cannot be properly
expressed because it is lacking one of the five senses, that is, the sense of hearing. The poets used
sound to enhance their poem and thus giving it a new meaning. In the early twentieth century,
people who were in the war would describe their experiences during the war through poems and
literature. Through the different styles of literature, veterans of war would communicate their
thoughts and ideas to the world. Wilfred Owen, a famous World War One poet, wrote poems
about people who would send young men to war. His Anthem for Doomed Youth has an incredible
way of describing the sound. He describes objects in such a realistic way that the reader feels
transported into the battlefield in the midst of war. With the use of illustrative words, the reader
gets connected to the poem. The repetition in Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Only the
stuttering rifles rapid rattle (1 2) describes the horrifying way in which the soldiers were cremated

Determining the Carrying Capacity of Species
All animals interact with their environment and their ability to grow is limited by the resources
available to them. The maximum number of individuals of a species that a certain environment can
support is called that species carrying capacity. Biologists can determine the population of a species
based on the carrying capacityby using models. That can indicate whether certain species are
endangered or abundant in the wild. There are numbers of factors that can determine a species
carrying capacity and models can be used to show the populationgrowth of that species.
Competition is a limiting factor that can determine a species carrying capacity. When population
increase, individuals start competing for food, shelter, and the most suitable mates. While the
stronger individuals tend to survive, the weaker individuals begin to die off because of insufficient
resources for everyone in the community. Competition can lower birthrates and increase death
rates. When two different species live in the same area, they compete for resources in that
environment and typically one species is eliminated by the other. The population will reach its
carrying capacity when competition reduces the size of the population to what the environment can
support. Predationand herbivory are another limiting factor that can determine a species carrying
capacity. Predation is when a population feeds on another population for sustenance. In predator
prey relationships, the predator can decrease

victimized, and then the war in Syria that led to the destruction of Aleppo and countless deaths of
innocent humanbeings. From that moment, I knew I could no longer stay still. But as soon as I
decided to act, I realized the heartbreaking truth: I am living in Vietnam, a country that used to be
so strong and brave but now is afraid to speak up for their rights and neglects the invaders trying
to take over their land, I cannot thrive here. Vietnamese citizens are scared of the unaccustomed
and do not dare to speak up because even freedom of speech is... Show more content on

We are not allowed to receive a sustainable education that provides us with knowledge coming
from different sources other than national textbooks. Public books must be strictly examined by
the government to show a view that must either advocate the regime or adopt a neutral stance.
Therefore, many books on the same topic are identical in content, some would even copy each
other s lines of reasoning. My friend in the U.S. once asked me what Vietnamese s general
knowledge about Ngo Dinh Diem was and just to her expectation, I quickly replied that they
abominated him. I thought it was the most proper answer that any students here could think of
until she asked me why and gave reasons that Diem had contributed so much to Vietnam,
especially to the Southern part after the Indochina war by establishing five universities and
legislating new laws that helped enhance the country s development. I was shocked. Not because
she knew so much, but because I knew nothing. Until now, even being a senior student at a top
high school in the most modern city, I still have no idea that Diem once wanted to create a better
Vietnam and because of the money pressure, he had to seek support from other countries, which is
the complete opposite of what I was taught in History class that Diem took the force of the United
States to ruin this

Essay on Guns Make for a Safer Country
Guns are needed. The main purpose is for protection. People think that by banning guns
Americans will be safer. This is not true though. Criminals get their guns through illegal ways so
it would be hard to confiscate all the guns. With guns taken away most Americans would
probably turn on their government. Some people want to ban guns because they are used in
crimes. But the guns are not committing the crime people are. Guns have always been and
always will be a form of protection. A gun is the easiest way to keep the peace. Nothing scares
someone more than knowing they could die. There are few people that are not scared of guns.
When guns are in the hands of the right people peace will be kept and there are no problems. If a
gun is in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The castle law allows people to protect themselves on their own property. If a person breaks into
a house then the owner has the right to shoot and kill that trespasser on the spot. Only some
states allow the castle law though. One negative view toward guns is that they kill people.
People kill people. The person behind the gun is the killer. Using this as an argument against
gun is the worst way someone can approach it. When someone is killed by a drunk driver do
people think that the car is responsible for killing? No, they obviously blame the drunk driver
and say nothing about the vehicle used in the incident. It should be the same way with guns.
People should not turn on the guns that they use for protection because there are people that
misuse guns. The problem is the way guns are viewed. Keith Olberman states, Guns are evil and
the NRA is evil. The article says, 30,000 Americans are killed by guns each year (Stossel).
Anyone can see in the statement it says killed by guns. It should say the guns are used. When it
is stated like that it makes it seem like guns are the problem. When most of the time it is the
people. In most of the big shootings the people behind them usually have some problem or have
been psychologically damaged. One example is the Aurora movie theater shooting just a year ago.
James Holmes, the shooter, showed signs before the shooting that he had problems. He was
described as bipolar and a shy

Defining The Divisions At One Time, Our Nation Is Divided...
Classifying the Divisions At one time, our Nation was divided by race and social class. Today,
our Nation is divided by the type of political party one identifies by or even by our stance on
particular issues. There are some, however, that get caught up in their generational past and use
this occurrence to identify by. Even more, some people classify themselves by their moral
obligations, setting standards that they may view as higher or different than their adversaries.
Then there are those who want to create new ideas and give their idea a fighting chance in this
ever so active society. Therefore, historical, modern, and principled issues classify the groups of
topics that divide our Nation. Historically, racism and equality have served to be the basis of
issues that have stemmed and grown from the constitution. Racism was a huge issue and is still
seen as an issue even today. Although equality is at the best point it has ever been, discrimination
is still an immense problem. Recently, the debate regarding the Confederate flag as a symbol for
slavery sparked many opinions, demonstrating the divisive nature of this issue. In her entry on the
Huffington Post: Black Voices page, Hilary Hanson (2015) reported that some people...feel the
Dixie flag represents their Southern heritage. On the contrary, some people feel as though the flag
has been used as an explicit symbol of racism (Hanson 2015). Between these divided groups, an
argument has ensued as to whether the

Url ( Uniform Resource Locator ) Is The Global Address Of...
URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the global address of documents and other resources on the
World Wide Web. A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) (commonly informally referred to as a web
address, although the term is not defined identically is a reference to a web resource that specifies
its location on a computer network and a mechanism for retrieving it. A URL is a specific type of
Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), although many people use interchangeably. An Internetaddress
usually consisting of the access protocol (http), the domain name(hmhbooks.com), and optionally
the path to a file or resource residing on the server where the domain name resides .
Parts of URL:
A URL is comprised of four parts. Using http://www.motive.co.nz/about/index.html as an example:
1.protocol: http://
2.domain or machine name: www.motive.co.nz
3.directory path: /about/
4.file name: index.html
The first portion (not technically part of the URL) identifies the protocol (http). This portion can
specify other protocols such as https (secure http), ftp, and so on.
The Host portion identifies the machine that runs the Web server and Web server application.
Although it is not shown in the preceding picture, this portion can override the port that receives
messages. Usually, there is no need to specify a port, because the port number is implied by the
protocol.
The Script Name portion specifies the name of the Web server application. This is the application
to which the Web server passes

Satan in Paradise Lost
Seeing Satan in a different light in Paradise Lost Satan is a character that has been ridiculed and
teased in our modern world because of his symbolization of evil, combined with the underlying
hypothesis that good will always triumph over evil ultimately questioning and mocking his
presence. In Paradise Lost John Miltonfrays from the typical view of Satan as the devil on your
shoulder by having the readers absorbed in the idea that they actually feel sympathetic towards this
evil creature. Within lines 605 645 in Book 1 Milton humanizes Satan on a level that the readers
can relate, which aids to their view of sympathy towards him. These lines establish a struggle within
Satan and illustrate his banishment from Heaven, which brought him... Show more content on

Here the reader sees Satan describing how God doesn t have to do anything, he accomplished
something once and is now valued while Satan has to constantly try and justify himself. God is
held up by old repute , that he will sit on his thrown and won t be touched because he is God and
there is no hope for Satan to overcome this reputation. When Satan goes on to tell the reader that
God just being God tempted our attempt, and wrought our fall (1.642) he is providing the image
of going into battle. Ultimately it wasn t his fault he had to perform such a task but it was God s
old repute that made him go forth with the battle. That maybe then Satan would get his own solid
image instead of being compared to various towers [without the implication of there always being
a taller one]. It is through these humanizing images presented that the reader is able to feel
sympathy towards someone who is said to be feared due to his excess evil. By looking at Satan
through different eyes it is although he becomes somewhat relatable to humans and suggests that he
is misunderstood. That possibly there is more to the story between the separation of Heaven and
Hell that the readers do not
