Objectives Of This Projec t To let students be more aware of Mexico’s family tradition. To let students develop a level of appreciation for Mexican families. To expand or broaden knowledge.
Comparison Between Jamaican and Mexican Family Mexico Mexicans mainly live in extended families. Most Mexican Families keep a book called “ Bueno Libro de Oro Antiguo” which when translated in English it means “ Good Old Golden Book .” This is book is passed down from generation to generations to which is used to ensure that all family rules are carried out . Jamaica Jamaicans mainly live in nuclear families. Most if not all Jamaican Family as no rule / golden book which is passed down from generation to generations.

M ost if not all Mexicans believe that one should NOT believe in divorce. In Mexico a female is the head a house In Mexico a lady cannot get a so called “good” job until married Jamaica In Jamaica one conducts themselves based on a personal decision or peer pressure. There are least one hundred and twenty (120) divorce paper signed in each parish per month. In Jamaica, anybody heads the house. Once you have your qualifications you may get a job
Comparison Between Jamaican and Mexican Family Mexico Once a Mexican family has a female child turning the age fifth teen (15), it is required that they MUST have a party by the name of quinceanera . In Mexico, a family’s success it marked by the amount of “good” rituals that they have. Eg . Weddings, Quinceanera , Jamaica Parents have the option if they wish to have a party of not In Jamaica, a family success is mainly based on the following: Occupations in which head of house occupies How well child/ children are doing in school. Who has better materialistic things (Please note these point are according to what society has lead to)
Similarities Between Jamaica and Mexico Jamaicans and Mexicans are very religious family. They all enjoy coming together on a Sunday afternoon and having a family fellowship while eating dinner. All Mexican and Jamaican family members try to let their family looks good in the public/ general.
