CREATIVE RHYTHM Creative rhythms are sometimes called fundamental rhythm or natural dance. A creative rhythm is an end product of exploration and improvisation of movement, as one learn to move the parts of their body and to use this as an instrument of expression.

FOLK AND ETHNIC DANCE A folk dance is a dance that reflects the life of the people of a certain country or region. Not all ethnic dances are folk dances. For example, ritual dances or dances of ritual origin are not considered to be folk dances. Ritual dances are usually called “religious dances” because of their purpose. The terms “ethnic” and “traditional” are used when it is required to emphasize the culture roots of the dance. In this sense, nearly all folk dances are ethnic ones.

It is comprised of all the same dances, like Foxtrot, Tango, Swing , or Cha-Cha, but designed to be used in practical settings like wedding receptions, nightclubs, business functions, or informal gatherings social dancing is less formal that exhibition dancing and is meant to be enjoyed while socializing.

CHEERDANCE Cheerleading is an activity in which the participants called cheerleaders cheer for their team as a form of encouragement. It can range from chanting slogans to intense physical activity. It can be performed to motivate sports teams, to entertain the audience, or for competition. Cheerleading routines typically range anywhere form one to three minutes, and contain components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers, and stunting.

The television show Soul Train and the 1980s films Breaking', Beat Stress, and wild style showcased these crews and dance styles in their early stages; therefore, giving hip-hop dance mainstream exposure.
