BODY LANGUAGE Body language is a type of non verbal communication in which physical behaviour as opposed to words , are used to express or convey information.
CLASSIFICATION OF BODY LANGUAGE
Kinesics Facial expression &Eye Gestures (Movement of Body Parts) Postures Physical Appearance (Clothing , Jewellery etc.) 2. Proxemics Intimate(Physical Context to 1.5 feet) Personal ( 1.5 feet to 4 feet) Social (4 feet to 12 feet ) Public (12 feet to Range of sight & Hearing)
3. Para Language The language depending on voice, quality, volume, speech rate, pitch , manner of speaking. Para language analysis concentration is more on “How…?” Than “What…?” Vocalization 4.Physical Context Environment such as Room Design, Furniture, Decoration, Colour, Building & its decoration.
IMPROVING BODY LANGUAGE Don’t cross your arms. Have eye contact , but donot stare. Be aware. Donot slouch. Use your hands more confidently.

CROSS CULTURAL COMMUNICATION Cross-cultural communication is a field of study that looks at how people from differing cultural backgrounds communicate, in similar and different ways among themselves, and how they endeavour to communicate across cultures. Intercultural communication is a related field of study.
EXAMPLES OF CROSS CULTURE The thumbs-up sign in America and most of Europe means that something is good but this sign is considered rude in many Islamic and Asian countries . In some culture it is okay for men to shake hands or hug each others as greeting but in India they would join hands together and slightly nod their head as a greeting.
