(largelycalcium,magnesium,phosporus,potassium,andothermineralelementsthatdo
notoxidize).
Formostbiologicalmaterialsthecarboncontentisbetween45to60percentofthe
volatilesolidsfraction.Assuming55percent(Adamsetal.,1951),theformulais:
