Alexei Stakhanov Stakhanov was a miner in Donbass, praised for mining 102 tons of coal, 14 times that of the quota (7 tons). Stakhanov was credited (the movement takes his name) with the start of the Stakhanovite movement; the Stakhanovite movement was a mass cultural movement for workers, it encouraged the rationalization of workplace processes i.e., increased production goals.
Alexandra Kollontai Alexandra Kollontai was a prominent Russian revolutionary, Marxist theorist, and diplomat, known for her advocacy of women's rights and her role in the early Soviet government, including serving as the first female commissar and ambassador to Norway, Mexico, and Sweden. During the Russian Revolution, Kollontai played a key role in mobilizing women and the working class, she advocated for women's liberation and social reforms. She h elped establish the "Women's Department" to address the needs of women in the Soviet Union.
