Spatial Analyzer The Metrology operating platform Prepared by: Paul Oberle

POWERFUL , TRACEABLE AND EASY TO USE METROLOGY AND ANALYSIS SOFTWARE SPATIAL ANALYZER

Founded 1994 World-wide recognition as experts in the metrology field 50 years of combined metrology experience Headquarters (Williamsburg, VA) Coastal USA offices International business partners License Distribution Nationally- 75% Internationally- 25% Technically Superior Software Strive to be the metrology software market leader Targets a broad range of industries and applications NEW RIVER KINEMATICS (NRK) Business Overview

Customer focused Solution driven Innovative Responsive Supportive Knowledgeable Strive to be: NEW RIVER KINEMATICS

“A traceable and certified metrology 3D graphical software platform than can simultaneously communicate to virtually any number and type of dimensional measurement systems while performing complex analysis tasks simply” . Certified Adopted Certified SPATIAL ANALYZER IN A NUTSHELL

Intuitive graphical environment. Advanced analysis and processing techniques. Advanced and Unique alignment techniques. Simultaneous instrument connections. Bundles multiple instrument stations. True GD&T and Feature Checks. 3D and 6D real time measurement. Numerous reporting possibilites (SA Dynamic Report, Excel, PDF, HTML, AVI, etc). Simulation Integrated Modern Scripting Language to automate: Measurements Processes Analysis Reporting Archiving OVERVIEW Spatial Analyzer (SA) is wholly developed and maintained by New River Kinematics (NRK) in the USA

SA Measured Points (Targets): Targets maintain measurement traceability within their individual observations Targets maintain a record about who and what measured them, when and how they were measured, and hold the raw measurement data from the instrument. Targets, because they are tied to instrument measurements, cannot be created through typical point construction or analysis methods--they must be measured. (There is, however, a way to create targets through measurement simulation) Steps within a survey are recorded in a log file that stays with the file. Ability to re-compute targets from shots if targets are altered in any way during the survey or analysis SA TRACEABILITY

Dynamic reports. GD&T Reporting. Composite Quick Reports. Graphics, tables, results. Callouts. Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Custom reports with Measurement Plan. SPC Charting. HTML. AVI movies. Quick Reports to PDF « Integrated Reporting » OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW « Integrated Reporting »

Ideal for CAD-to-Part comparison. Ideal for assembly. Simultaneous alignments of multiple objects (point group, surfaces, lines, planes, cylinders, etc). The user can weight each relationship individually relative to its importance to the part / tool performance requirements. This is « real » alignment and « real » assembly. The user can set fit constraints and SA will automatically weight each relationship. SA ULTIMATE RELATIONSHIP FITTING « Advanced and unique spatial transformation capability »

Classic optimization: Best-Fit, Points to Points Best-Fit, Points to Surfaces Relationship optimization Points to Points Points to Objects Objects to Objects Point Groups to Objects Point Groups to Point Groups Point Clouds to Objects Frame to Frame Object to Object Direction SA ULTIMATE RELATIONSHIP FITTING

USMN brings all of the instruments into one common network and creates a point group that represents the network as a whole . Traditional methods use a best-fit approach  error stack-up affects the instrument positions greatly. USMN uses instrument uncertainty and advanced optimization algorithms to simultaneously solve for all instrument positions. USMN removes the error stack up and increases the accuracy of the instrument network . SA ULTIMATE USMN « Unified Spatial Metrology Network – understand and optimize network uncertainty

Point clouds Polygonal meshing Reverse engineering Direct interface with Geomagic providing industry leading point cloud functionality, NURBS surfacing, hole filling, etc. Interface with Polyworks , Rapidform , or other purpose built point cloud surfacing software solutions REVERSE DESIGN, ENGINEERING

Full automation scripting, anything you can do manually can be automated Robotic control, calibration, drive Compensate robot/CNC machine moves down to portable metrology accuracy. “Move, Measure, Correct” SA MACHINE AND AUTOMATION
