 Applying SQL Server patches and Service Packs during the maintenance window.
 Raising Change requests for any production change to be made and other defined requests for their
respective purpose.
 Creating Weekly and Monthly analysis reports for the Database Growth and Performance statistics.
 Distribution of Knowledge with in Team considering any new issue and document it for future usage if it
surfaces back.

Project Overview: State Bank of Mauritius is enhancement cum maintenance banking project where the Miles
application is monitored round the clock. As a part of this project the database application from the user
prospective is enhanced and added several performance tuning measure to improve the usability, performance
and functionality from the application end.

Key Deliverables:

 Installation and Configuration of SQL server 2008R2. Applying SQL service packs on SQL server
2008R2 instances.
 Creating Databases, Tables, Indexes, Views, Stored procedures and managing the growth of
databases by working along with the application and moving of database files to different disks in
necessary situations.
 Creating and Designing Indexes. Index maintenance which involves monitoring, rebuilding, disabling.
 Designing the Backup Strategy, backing up and restoring data, creating jobs, scheduling them
accordingly.
 Scheduling Jobs Using Maintenance Plan.
 User and Security management, working on user permissions, roles accordingly.
 Used dynamic management views (DMV's) to monitor the health of a server instance, diagnose
problems, and tune performance.
 Verifying and maintaining database backups, integrity checks, and scheduled jobs.
 Implementing High Availability using Log shipping, Database Mirroring and troubleshooting issues
related to the same.
