St John Ambulance Ambattur is a self-funding charitable organisation active in all areas, dedicated to helping people in sickness, distress, suffering or danger.

St John Ambulance provides:

First aid training;§

First aid§ services at community and public events, and assistance during national disaster
relief, through volunteers;
A range of community care services for the§ aged, the infirm, the immobile and lonely;
A youth development program for§ young people aged 8 to 18 years;

FIRST AID
What is First Aid?
First Aid is the first treatment given to a casualty with the objective of preserving life
and preventing his condition from becoming worse until proper medical treatment is
given.
Contents of a First Aid Kit
Every home should have a First Aid kit, which usually contains the following items.
You may want to include other first aid items that serve your household's needs.

1. Disposable gloves to protect the rescuer from infection transmitted via
blood and other bodily fluids
2.Tweezers to pull out stings and other small foreign objects embedded in
the skin/wounds
3.Scissors to cut dressing, bandages and clothes
4.Resuscitation face shield to serve as a protective layer during CPR
5.Thermometer to measure human body temperature
