6. 7 STAGES OF DECOMPOSITION : 1.IMMEDIATE STAGE 2. LIVOR MORTIS 3. RIGOR MORTIS 4. PUTREFICATION 5. ENTHAMOLOGY MUMMIFICATION SKELETINISATION

7. IMMEDIATE STAGE Begins immediately after death All physiological function stops

8. LIVOR MORTIS Begins after 20-30 min of death Blood settles down under gravity Cause purplish discoloration

9. RIGOR MORTIS Initiates after 12-24 hrs Stiffening of body muscles Stiffness disappear after 36 hrs

10. PUTREFICATION Time line : 2-3 days /2-3 weeks Liquefaction of most organs Abdomen begins to swell Discoloration of abdomen

11. ENTAMOLOGY Eggs are lied within 2 hrs Life cycle of a fly from egg to maggot to fly takes from 2-3 weeks

12. MUMMIFICATION Initiates from 5 – 15 days Flesh eventually turn similar to wax Completed within a span of 3-12 months

13. SKELETONIZATION Soft tissues dried and decay Parts of skeleton are visible
