Agenda/Objective
•Toidentifytheeffectofproductbeingmanufacturedontheenvironment.
•Provideanideatotheengineeringstudentsabouttheeffectsonenvironmentbyany
changesbroughtinmaterial,production&lifecycleplanningofaproduct.
Thus,promotingthemtoselectmoresustainableapproachduringtheselectionphase.

CarbonFootprint:
•Torecognisethecarbonemissionduringmanufacturing(Material&Process),transportationand
recycling.
•Comparingmultiplematerialsandselectingthemostappropriateone,whichemitslessgases.

EnergyConsumption:
•Torecognisetheenergyconsumedduringmanufacturing(Material&Process),
transportationandrecyclingoftheproduct.
•Comparingmultipleprocesses/materialsandselectthemostappropriateone,which
consumeslessenergy.Moreenergyconsumptioncanbedirectlyassociatedtoincrease
carbonfootprint.
