การพัฒนาห่วงโซ่การผลิตและตลาดสินค้าเกษตรในพื้นที่ภาคกลางอย่างยั่งยืน (Sustainable Development of Production and Marketing Chains for Agriculture Sector in Central Region of Thailand)
This paper provides an overview of agricultural product markets in the central region of Thailand, focusing on the role of markets in supporting the production and distribution of agricultural products. It also discusses the development of value chains and the promotion of sustainable agricultural product markets at the community, provincial, regional, and national levels. Agricultural markets are categorized into two types: community-level agricultural markets and central agricultural markets at the provincial, regional, or national levels, with the latter playing a critical role in mitigating the issue of declining agricultural prices in the future. A case study of the central region investigates the production chain problems faced by small-scale farmers, including water shortages, excessive use of chemicals, and lack of aggregation for product processing. Successful examples of central agricultural markets, such as Talad Thai, are highlighted as effective models for connecting farmers with domestic and international markets. Recommendations for developing the agricultural value chain and markets in the central region include improving transport infrastructure, promoting farmer groups, developing local and national agricultural markets, and ensuring the sustainable production of safe and high-quality agricultural products.
