WHAT IS SWACcH BHARAT CAMPAIGN……… The Abhiyan was launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 nd of October 2014 at Rajhat , New Delhi with an aim to make India clean. Aim is to provide sanitation facilities to every family , including toilets , solid and liquid waste disposal systems , village cleanliness , and safe drinking water supply by 2 nd October ,2019. Background of swacch bharat abhiyan . With effect from 1 April 1999, the Government of India instructed the Comprehensive Rural Sanitation Programme and launched the Total Sanitation Campaigning (TSC) which was later (on 1st April 2012) renamed Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) . RAUNAK 3

What is the goal of swacch bharat campaign? By 2019 Gandhi’s 150 birthday anniversary , every city , town & village is to be clean i.e. they will have pucca toilets for all , safe drinking water ,waste disposal systems , clean roads & lanes . RAUNAK 5

MONEY SANCTION FOR SWACCH BHARAT ABHIYAN. " Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is expected to cost over Rs.620 billion (US$9.5 billion).The government provides an incentive of Rs.15,000 (US$230) for each toilet constructed by a BPL family. An amount of Rs.90 billion (US$1.4 billion)was allocated for the mission in the2016 Union budget of India." RAUNAK 7

OBJECTIVES OF SWACCH BHARAT ABHIYAN To make India clean through behavioural change. To promote idea of smart city . A city needs to be clean before it becomes smart . To eliminate the burden of communicable disease which India has like Malaria , Diarrhea , Cholera . To emphasize on the fact that clean mind & body reside in clean environment . To effectively and efficiently handle waste generated. People are encouraged to separate wet and dry garbage for this. RAUNAK 8

SWACCH BHARAT ABHIYAN – “HIT OR MISS.” TARGET- 100000 community toilets by 2019. 25000 toilets installed . SUCCESS RATE- 25% TARGET – 25 lakhs individuals toilets by 2019. 4.6 lakhs installed successfully & 12 lakhs under progress . SUCCESS RATE- 18% TARGET – 1000 cities with 100% solid waste management by 2019 . Only 2 have achieved. SUCCESS RATE – 0.2% RAUNAK 12

conclusion Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is the campaign started by the government of India for making I ndia a clean and green country. As a citizen of India be a part of it in making of clean India.
