Nanotechnology “Using the pictures as a guide, what do you think might be the meaning of nanotechnology?”
Learning Objectives To learn about the various uses and applications of nanotechnology. To be able to use that knowledge to teach other pupils.
Activity In pairs, you will receive an article/information on nanotechnology. You will then produce a scientific information poster on that particular nanotechnology. After producing this information poster, you will then have two minutes to “teach” pupils from in your group about your nanotechnologies using your information poster.
What to Include What your nanotechnology is. How is the article describing it? What are the uses for this nanotechnology? Some of the science behind the nanotechnology. Some interesting facts . Any ethical problems with the technology? Anything else you think you might want to add.
What have we learned? To learn about the various uses and applications of nanotechnology. To be able to use that knowledge to teach other pupils.
Activity In your pairs, you now have 3 minutes (1 minute with each poster) to look around the other groups posters and comment on their work (write your comments on the back along with your name): 2 things you like about the poster/presentation ( E.G. good scientific information, clearly set out, well taught). 1 things that you think they might have done better. You then have 2 minutes to read the comments on your poster and write two sentences on: What you think you have done well today. Things you might need to improve on.
