Biodiversity (terrestrial) BY MUHAMMAD NAJIBULLAH BIN AZMAN 2014316097 LECTURER: IR DR BULAN ABDULLAH
What is Biodiversity is the variability among living organisms from all sources, including terrestrial, marine, and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species, between species, and of ecosystems.
Biodiversity forms the foundation of the vast array of ecosystem services that critically contribute to human well-being. Biodiversity is important in human-managed as well as natural ecosystems. Plants, animal and climate work together to maintain the balance of nature. They act as nuts, boots and oil of a perfectly tuned machine . PYRAMID OF BIODIVERSITY Is important for sustaining life on earth because it prevents any one species from throwing the balance of nature out of order.
Importance of biodiversity To boost ecosystem productivity where each species means a greater variety of crops. Besides that, greater species diversity ensures natural sustainability for all life forms. Even though we concurred the planet, we still need to preserve the diversity in wildlife.
What is terrestrial biodiversity T errestrial biodiversity is to indicator of ecosystem health, high biodiversity is used and it have shown direct links to human health. Besides, climate change will affect terrestrial biodiversity and ecosystems through both gradual and sudden changes in response to average climate example increased temperatures, decrease rainfall, changes to seasonality, increased hot days, heat waves and intensified wet seasons.
THE GOALS 15 LIFE ON LAND by united nation Is point up about terrestrial biodiversity because this goals sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss Biodiversity include the variety of plant and animal life world or habitat, a high level of which is considered to be important and desirable.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUSTAINING TERRESTRIAL BIODIVERITY?
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUSTAIN FORESTRY
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUSTAIN TOPICAL FOREST
CHALLENGE FOR TERRESTRIAL BIODIVERSITY Rapid urbanization, especially in developing countries. Urban development includes substantial increase of public and private investments in urban infrastructures and services. Decreasing in food and nutrition security continues to defect and cause hunger and malnourishment when terrestrial not protected. Government point up is no strict laws are applied to protect and maintain the terrestrial. Besides, may spend many cost to do sustainable activities and focus more on development for national image . Loss of forest due to deforestation gives impact to distribution of biodiversity of flora and fauna. Thus when forest damage, the wildlife species is in danger because of their habitat disturbed.
SUGGESTION OR IMPLEMENTATION AND SUPPORT FOR UNITED NATION SUSTAINABLE GOALS Mobilize and significantly increase from all sources financial resources to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity and ecosystems Restoring damaged ecosystems (using reconciliation ecology). Considerate and sharing with other species much of the land we dominate (using reconciliation ecology) Peoples can be identifying and protecting severely threatened areas (biodiversity hotspot), sustaining ecosystem services to make a better biodiversity
POTENTIALS UN-ETHICAL PROBLEMS AND SUGGESTIONS TO OVERCOME (DO’S AND DON’TS) Do’s Change our lifestyle to simplicity not luxury Start love our nature and earth Don’t support any illegal activities for our land Replant any trees seed that easy to grow Dont’s Swept out our forest for urbanization or for no reason. Fire up our backyard for small garden Dispose our daily domestic waste into wood Lazy to implement recycle, reuse reduce in daily life
Conclusion All human need to know about the meaning of biodiversity especially about terrestrial for more concerned. Take responsibilities on how to protect our nature for next generations Achieved all goals that provide the United Nation on sustainable development for a better future. Considerate all effect to nature when doing something that will affect them such as urbanization.
