Cosmetics Used in Manicuring Base coats are liquid products applied directly to the nails to protect these against stains from the pigments in colored polishes . Top coats are applied last over the color enamels to keep them from peeling or chipping.

Color enamels are applied twice over the base coat to give strength and color to the nail plate. Ridge fillers are thicker base coats used to even out ridges or bumps on the nail . Quick dry is an oil product sprayed or brushed over the top coat to quicken the drying process.

Nail polish is used to remove old nail polish on the nail . Nail polish solvent is used to then out liquid nail polish . Cuticle remover is used to soften dead cuticle . Cuticle oil is used to lubricate the skin around the nails.

Massage cream is used to prevent friction burns during a massage and to soften and moisturize the skin . Soap is used for finger bath . Nail bleaches are used to remove nail stains . Nail whiteners are applied under the free edge to make the tips look whiter .
