Prudence and Frugality of a Person Towards the Environment Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person

What is our relationship to our environment? Anthropocentrism Biocentrism Ecocentrism

Anthropocentrism (Human-Centered Ethic) A viewpoint that humans are the most important beings in the universe. Nature is valuable insofar as it serves human needs and interests.

Biocentrism (Life-Centered Ethic) This view values all living things equally, regardless of their usefulness to humans. Humans are just one part of the biosphere, not above it.

Ecocentrism (Earth-Centered Ethic) Goes beyond biocentrism by valuing ecosystems, natural processes, and the Earth as a whole, not just individual living organisms.

Task Performance - Presentation You are tasked to create and present a realistic solution to climate change that can be applied in your school, home, or community. Your presentation must clearly explain your proposed solution, how it helps address climate change, and identify possible challenges or hindrances to its implementation. Suggest ways to overcome these obstacles. A visual aid (PowerPoint, Canva, poster, or printed material) is required. You will work groups and will be given 5–7 minutes to present. Your work will be graded based on the relevance and clarity of your solution, creativity , realism , acknowledgment of hindrances , visual quality , and delivery .

Criteria Clear and Relevant Solution – Your idea is understandable and connected to climate change. (30 points) Creativity and Presentation – Your work is original, neat, and interesting. (20 points) Realistic and Possible – The solution can actually be done in real life. (20 points) Challenges and Suggestions – You explained possible problems and how to fix them. (15 points) Visual Aids – You used clear and helpful visuals (e.g., slides, poster). (10 points) Speaking and Participation – You spoke clearly and worked well with your group (if any). (5 points)
