HARAMAYA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND COMPITITIONAL SCIENCE SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY BIOLOGY PROGRAM REVIEW ON FACTORS AFFECTING INDIGENOUS ECOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE OF PEOPLE ON CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCE PREPARED BY:-MESERET BIRATU ID NO 1910/11     ADVISOR: - ZINAB SHERAFU   OCT-2021 HARAMAYA, ETHIOPIA .

1. INTRODUCTION. Human interactions with nature were complex and divers . . On the one hand, Traditional ecological knowledge has become increasingly recognized Indigenous Ecological Knowledge, an enterprise consists both the ecological and social systems, was interwoven leading to ensure the sustenance of both the systems Traditional knowledge associated with scientific knowledge can yield a better perspective on natural resource management and can widely improve ecological health.

cont. Scholars from different fields of study conduct interdisciplinary research on the concept of traditional knowledg The studies conducted on the traditional knowledge of the indigenous communities and their dependencies on natural resources were wide and varied.

Review Question and Objectives . What were the factors that affect natural resources? What were the roles of government and non-government to conserve natural resources? Objectives To identify factors affecting natural resource and indigenous knowledge of people on conserving natural resources To describe indigenous knowledge of the people to conserve natural resources.

2.FACTORS AFFECTING INDIGENOUS ECOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE OF PEOPLE ONCONSERVING NATURAL RESOURCES. Life support systems of Earth are dependent on the services ecosystems provide and the natural resources that yield them In the last several decades, increases in the population density of many wild cervid populations have been observed in Europe and North America.

Cont. Capacity building was one of the pillars of the government rural development policy. Indigenous knowledge would, broadly speaking, the knowledge used by local people would make a living in a particular environment There was no reliable figure on the trends of forest cover in Ethiopia.

Cont. Since natural resources were finite, limited, and would likely run out if we continue to use them at the rate we are, it was extremely important to conserve them wherever possible . There were many simple ways to conserve natural resources . Most of these was based on the simple environment /green principles. Such as reduce, reuse and recycle.

3.CONCLUSION Natural resources are; forest, water, soil, wild animals and the others . But During this time it affect natural resource specially plant was this challenge causes losses of natural resources . Generally the natural resources are to be protected against the risk of destruction this resource were affected by factors like such as; deforestation, rapid population growth, land degradation, and other infrastructural activities
