This project is a complete simulation of a three-phase, grid-connected solar power system. Its main job is to efficiently convert DC power from solar panels into clean AC power that can be used in your home or sent back to the public electrical grid.

Yellow Section – PV Array (Solar Panels) Function: Represents the photovoltaic panels that convert solar irradiance into DC electrical power. The “Sun Insolation” block is the solar input. Output: Produces DC voltage and current (PV_V and PV_I). Connection: Feeds power into the red section (DC-DC converter). This is the first stage of the system.

Red Section – DC-DC Boost Converter Function: This is a boost converter, which increases (boosts) the PV voltage to a higher and more stable DC level suitable for the inverter. Switches Q1 and Q2 are controlled devices (MOSFETs/IGBTs). It’s usually controlled by an MPPT algorithm (Maximum Power Point Tracking) to extract the maximum possible power from the PV array. Input: Low DC voltage from the PV array (yellow section). Output: Boosted DC voltage ( V_dc ) sent to the inverter (blue section). Connection: Links the PV side (yellow) to the inverter stage (blue).

Blue Section – DC-AC Inverter + LCL Filter Function: This is the three-phase inverter, which converts the boosted DC voltage into AC power. Controlled using SVPWM (Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) to generate balanced and smooth AC waveforms. The LCL filter removes high-frequency harmonics to ensure clean AC output before connecting to the grid. Input: DC voltage from the boost converter (red section). Output: Three-phase AC voltage after filtering. Connection: Sends AC power to the pink section (LV Grid).

Pink Section – LV Grid (Low Voltage Grid) Function: Represents the low-voltage power grid that receives the generated AC power. The system is grid-connected, meaning power can flow from the inverter to the utility grid. Input: Three-phase AC from the inverter (blue section). Output: Distributed power into the grid.
