Different Sub-species Siberian/Amur Tiger: Largest cat in the world. Reside in small southeast region of Russia Also found in small numbers in China and North Korea. Feed on elks, boar, bears and deer. Have fewer, paler stripes than other tigers. Height:- 11ft ( avg ) Weight:- 400-700lbs
Bengal Tiger:- Second largest cat species in the world. Mostly reside in tropical rainforest, marshes and tall grasses of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. Feeds on water buffalo, deer, gaur and wild boar. Height:- 7-10 ft Weight:-300-500lbs Different Sub-species
Different Sub-species Sumatran Tiger Reside in low and high dense tropical forests of Sumatran Island of Indonesia. Smallest of the tiger species. Feed on boars, cattles , monkeys, birds and even slippery fish. Height:- 6.5-7.8ft Weight:- 176-330lbs
Different Sub-species Indochinese Tiger:- Dwells in southwestern China, Burma, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Feeds on sambar deer, wild boar, young gaurs, monkeys, porcupines etc. Least known sub-species of tiger. Height:- 7.5-9ft Weight:- 330-440lbs
Different Sub-species South China Tiger Reside in temperate forests of southeast China Feed on large mammals like deer, wild boar and cattle. Second smallest species of tiger. Height:- 7.5-9ft Weight:- 221-430lbs
Different Sub-species Malayan Tiger Dwell in Malayan Peninsula around southern and central Malaysia. Feed on sun bear, wild boars and deer. Tiger with comparatively low weight comparison to any other sub-species. Height:- 7-8ft Weight:- 104-284lbs
Some Facts About Tiger Female give birth in every two years . A litter consists of two to six cubs. A tiger territory can range upto 10,000 square kilometers. (Specially in case of Siberian Tiger) At birth tiger cubs weight only about 2.2 pounds only. Average life span of tiger in wild ranges from 10-20 years. Every tiger have distinctive fur, just like every human have different fingerprints. A tiger can have a biting force of 700-1200 Newtons .
Conservation of Tigers Tigers are on verge of extinction with o nly about 3200 tigers remaining wild. Tigers are considered as one of the most endangered species of organism by IUCN. According to census there are about 235 tigers in Nepal. In Nepal Tigers are worshipped as depiction of g oddess Durga , the supreme goddess in Hindu religion. Tiger are conserved in Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park of Nepal where an exclusive amount of tiger can be seen. Conservation is done with management of tiger breeding center in Chitwan National park. Tigers are apex predator of environmental food chain.
