INTERNSHIP REPORT PRESENTATION SUBMITTED BY MILAN HARISH C - (720721108059) III - B.E. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING - “B” SUBMITTED ON : 13/06/2024

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES Product Knowledge: Gain comprehensive understanding of various tractor models, their specifications, features, and applications. Customer Interaction Skills: Develop effective communication skills by interacting with customers, understanding their requirements, and providing relevant product information. Inventory Management: Understand inventory management processes, including stock tracking, ordering, and replenishment . Technical Proficiency: Acquire hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various tractor models, engines, and components. Diagnostic Skills: Develop the ability to identify mechanical and technical issues in tractors through systematic troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures. Repair Techniques: Learn repair techniques and procedures for addressing common and complex issues encountered in tractor maintenance, including engine repairs, hydraulic system servicing, and electrical system troubleshooting. Problem-Solving Abilities: Enhance problem-solving skills by tackling real-world challenges encountered in tractor repair and maintenance, finding innovative solutions, and adapting to unforeseen circumstances.

LEARNING ASPECTS OF ESCORT TRACTORS 1. TRACTOR AND ITS VARIANT IDENTIFICATION :The performance of tractor and its specifications can be read out by the part number and model number of tractor and its components. 2. TRACTOR PARTS SPECIFICATIONS : The repairing and technical work of the tractor parts like ENGINE, CLUTCH, TRANSMISSION, HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BRAKE, STEERING AND SUSPENSION SYSTEM etc.. 3. EQUIPMENTS AND MACHINERIES HANDLING : The knowledge gaining through machines and its handling are well defined at this service station which is enough about to process a repair work on tractors. 4. SALES AND SERVICE TECHNIQUES : Ensuring the working condition of a part in tractors and its need for replacement are defined by equiping well. Identifying and selecting appropriate parts using catlogue are very much interpreted in this company.

VARIETY OF TRACTOR MODELS Various types of tractor models are available and can be purchased. These tractors are specified for different purposes with different name tags. For examples, FARMTRAC 6055 POWERMAXX E-CRT, (3910CC 60HP 4WD)- Eco friendly. CHAMPION 39, (2300CC 41HP 2WD)- DIESEL SAVER TECHNOLOGY, HEAVY LIFT UPTO 1800kg. FARMTRAC CHAMPION 35 ALL ROUNDER, (2340CC 38HP 2WD)- AGRI AND COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.

SPARE PARTS DESCRIPTION Escort’s ETOP manufacturers produce various kinds of major products escort tractors. The Escort tractor sales person in a showroom have a specific catlogue to provide appropriate product to the customers . The parts of various components in a tractor are followed by a series or part number which help the seller to identify the product that the customer actually wanted.

Some of the examples for spare parts description, D10017460.9 CLAMP ASSEMBLY FUEL TUBE D10567380.9 HOSE ASSEMBLY FUEL TANK RETURN D10551060.9 BRACKET SUPPORT MUFFLER HORIZONTAL D10536300.9 GASKET INTAKE ELBOW MITSUBISHI ENGINE D10536290.9 ELBOW INTAKE MANIFOLD MITSUBISHI D81502510.9 BOLT M8X1.25X60-8.8 HEX HEAD FLANGED D82500230.9 SCREW M8X1.25X20-8.8 HEX HEAD FLANGED D10524990.9 LEVER ALTERNATOR ADJUSTING D84500450.9 STUD B M12X45-10.9 D10607060.9 FLYWHEEL ASSEMBLY (MITSUBISHI MVS3L2-W463JCET) D87500570.9 PIN 9.5X20 PLAIN DOWEL D81503200.9 BOLT M12X1.25X30-10.9 HEX HEAD.

ENGINE VALVE CLEARANCES Valve clearances are the small gaps between the tops of the valve stems and the part of the mechanism which presses on them to open the valves . Check ing the clearances at regular intervals as specified in the tractor service schedule is necessary. For example, In Farmtrac 555dt I nlet valve: 0 . 36 mm or . 46 mm, E xhaust valve: 0 . 43 mm or . 53 mm . FEELER GAUGE is used for measuring valve clearances.

ENGINE TIMING SETUP Engine timing refers to the coordination of the opening and closing of the engine's valves in relation to the movement of the pistons. This synchronization is not a mere mechanical formality but a carefully calculated maneuver that ensures the engine operates at its optimal efficiency. Fixing CAM shaft, CRANK shaft and DIESEL PUMP gear in a respective mark is called timing setup.

CLUTCH FINGER ADJUSTMENT If the fingers are too low, the throwout bearing holder, and the metal part of the bearing can hit the turning pressure plate. If that happens there is a metal to metal sound. F ork angled correctly and the bearing adjusted properly will allow you to experience much easier pedal effort and require less travel to achieve full disengagement of the clutch system Depth gauge is used for the measurement of finger’s height and adjustments.

HYDRAULIC ASSEMBLY Hydraulics are an essential part of the tractor which lifts the ploughs and rotators for the land tilage. This rotator which are finally attatched with hydraulic body and PTO shaft. This is the oil filter used for refining oil inside the hydraulic system. This the hydraulic pump that runs by a gear mesh and pumps the oil to the cylinder.

This is the hydraulic body in which the seat is mounted, this hydraulic system has a lever which is used to lift the arm of the system that is connected with rotators or plate ploughs. When the pump runs then the oil is supplied inside the cylinder and the piston pushes the arm gear thus the arm rises. this arm can have the lifting power upto 1800 kgs.

As I conclude my internship presentation, I'm reminded of the invaluable experiences gained during my time at the tractor showroom. From understanding the intricate workings of agricultural machinery to fostering meaningful connections with customers and colleagues, this internship has been nothing short of transformative. CONCLUSION THANKING YOU.
