NDNC/DNC NDNC: an opportunity to limit the telemarketing calls they receive DNC: telemarketers are prohibited from calling in most circumstances. The list is maintained by the National Do Not Call Registry of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC ) MET Institute of Management Business Environment 5
DO NOT CALL OR DO NOT Disturb WHY ?? The authority been receiving complaints from various quarters regarding telemarketing calls and unsolicited SMSs Disturb the recipients, intrude into their privacy and impose a cost the Authority initiated a consultation process with all the stakeholders and came out with a comprehensive regulation called the Telecom Unsolicited Commercial Communications Regulations in June 2007 MET Institute of Management Business Environment 6

For the month of January, the maximum number of requests in Zone-I (North and West India) were received in Gujarat at 4 Lakhs Jammu & Kashmir registered the lowest number of requests at 2,534 but that is expected, since it has one of the lowest user base In Zone-II (South and East India), West Bengal leads with 8 Lakhs customers requesting for number porting till date, followed by Kolkata, which received 4 Lakhs requests.
