What is Training? • Training is a systematic process of enhancing employees’ skills, knowledge, and behavior. • Focus: Learning & development to bridge gap between current and required performance. • Purpose: Improve efficiency, productivity, and adaptability. • Key features: Continuous, skill-oriented, goal-focused.
Needs & Importance of Training Needs: • Bridge skill gaps between employees and job requirements. • Adapt to technological advancements. • Prepare for higher responsibilities. • Improve productivity & quality of work. Importance: • Enhances employee competence and confidence. • Reduces errors & accidents. • Increases job satisfaction & motivation. • Helps in career growth and organizational success.
Training Process 1. Identify Training Needs – analyze skill gaps, performance appraisals. 2. Set Training Objectives – clear goals for learning outcomes. 3. Design Training Program – methods, content, trainers, resources. 4. Implementation – conduct sessions (classroom, on-job, workshops, etc.). 5. Evaluation – measure effectiveness (tests, feedback, performance review).
Training Methods On-the-Job Training (OJT): • Learning by doing (apprenticeship, job rotation, coaching). • Practical and cost-effective.
