Swarasa
Swarasa of herbs is used as a liquid dosage form of medicament for internal and
external application and for the preparation of different upakalpanas like ,
Avaleha,Arista(fermentative medicinalformulations) and taila(medicated oil) etc. It
is the most potent preparation among panchavida kashaya kalpanas. The reason
for this may be the percentage and form of active principles present in the
preparation, Hence it is considered as most potent form. In the classical texts of
Ayurveda, different methods are found for juice extraction.Ayurveda introduces the
unique methods of juice extraction according to the physical, chemical and
biological nature of the drugs.

Tulasi swarasa preparation
Tulasi Swarasa is a herbal preparation made from the fresh leaves of the Tulasi
plant (Ocimum sanctum),
Ingredients: Fresh Tulasi leaves
Equipment: Mortar and pestle or a blender , Clean muslin cloth or fine strainer ,
clean container to collect the juice.
Preparation Steps:Collect Fresh Leaves,Wash the Leaves, Grind the Leaves
Using a Mortar and Pestle,Place the paste on a clean muslin cloth or fine
strainer.Squeeze the cloth or press the paste through the strainer to extract the
juice. Collect the juice in a clean container.
Dosage and Usage
Dosage : half pala(24 ml)
Anupana: 1 kola (6gm) of maricha churna
Indications/usage: vishama jwara.
