QUESTION TWO:
A lamp giving out 1200lm in all directions is suspended 8 m above the working plane. Calculate
the illumination at a point on the working plane 6 m away from the foot of the lamp.
QUESTION THREE:
A piece of paper lies on a table 2 m away from a point directly below a bulb of 100 cd and is 4 m
above the table. Calculate the illumination on the centre of the paper in lux.
QUESTION FOUR
A hall 30 m long and 12 m wide is to be illuminated and the illumination required is 50 meter-
candles. Calculate the number of lamps required taking a depreciation factor of 1.3 and
utilization coefficient of 0.5 given that the output of the lamp to be used is rated 100 W, 1615
lumens.

A light source has an illumination of 100 footcandles (fc), what is the illumination in lux?
