What is an Electric
Circuit?
An electrical circuit is an interconnection of
electrical components. An electrical circuit
consists of batteries, resistors, inductors,
capacitors, switches, or transistors. An
electrical network consists of a closed loop. A
circuit is a closed path where electrons flow in
a wire. As long as the copper wire is allowed
to itself, the electrons drift between the atoms
but never leave the copper.

Closed Circuit
A circuit without interruption,
providing a continuous path through
which a current can flow

Open Circuit
A circuit in which the continuity is broken due
to which the electric current can not flow is
known as an open circuit. In an open circuit,
the current flowing is zero, thus no power
dissipates from an open circuit.

Series Circuit
a series circuit is a path where the current
flows from one component to another
through a single path. In these types of
series circuits, the negative terminal of
the component is connected with the
positive terminal and vice versa.

Parallel Circuit
A parallel circuit comprises branches so
that the current divides and only part of it
flows through any branch. The voltage, or
potential difference, across each branch of
a parallel circuit is the same, but the
currents may vary.

Short Circuit
A parallel circuit comprises branches so that the
current divides and only part of it flows through
any branch. The voltage, or potential difference,
across each branch of a parallel circuit is the
same, but the currents may vary.
