1. Types of Claims

2. A statement that is not considered accepted by all. It is also called position. It is arguable.

3. Claim of Fact A statements that asserts that the condition has existed, exists or will exist. It reports, describes, predict or make casual claims. It is verifiable but still debatable . Examples: Kalian National High School is a competitive school. Jelanie is a pretty girl.

4. Claim of Value Make judgments: something is good/bad, right/wrong, beautiful/ugly. It attempts to prove that something is more/less desirable than others. Examples: Kalian National High School is the best school. It is not good to cheat .

5. Claim of Policy Statements that urge an actions should be done or not be done, believe/banned. It calls for an action. Examples: Students ought to respect their teachers. We must come to school early.
