3. WHAT IS UNION BUDGET?
•it is prepared by the Finance Minister and presented in Parliament, usually on
February 1st. It shows what the government plans to do with its money in the coming
financial year (April to March).
The Union Budget is the government's yearly plan for how it will earn and spend money.

4. UNION BUDGET 2025-2026
The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, presented the Union Budget 2025–26 on
February 1, 2025, outlining the government's financial plan for the year.

5. MAIN PARTS OF THE BUDGET:
Income (Receipts) – Money the government earns from taxes and other
sources.
Spending (Expenditure) – Money the government spends on things like
roads, schools, defense, and salaries.

6. BUDGET OBJECTIVES:
The budget focuses on boosting economic growth, supporting agriculture and
MFocus on SMEs, building infrastructure, and reducing the fiscal deficit to 4.4%
of GDP
