2. 2 Skill 4 : Adding animations An animation is an effect that can be added to any item of content on a slide . You can use animation to make a presentation more interesting. Think carefully about whether your animation has a purpose . You should only really use animation for two main reasons : To highlight a particular item of content within a slide. To withhold content from your audience until the point at which you want them to see it. Ch:1 page no 30

3. To add animation to some content on a slide , you will need to select the content first. When you have done this , click on the Animation tab. 3

6. 6 Skill 5: Customizing animations and adding timing Some of the animations have additional options to help you customize your slide . You can locate these by clicking on the EFFECT OPTIONS button. You will need to choose which triggers to use for your animation. The ‘On click’ option means that the animation will begin when the mouse is clicked on. The ‘With Previous’ option means that the animation will automatically begin with the previous animation that has been set. The ‘After Previous’ option means that the animation will automatically begin after the previous animation has played.

8. 8 To open the animation pan click on animation pane button. This will open it up on the right-hand side of the screen.

You will also understand that you can make different choices about both the content and the stylings of the content depending on the audience and purpose of your presentation.
