Members of UN Set up of organization through the signing of the UNITED NATIONS CHARTER by 51 states. India joined on October 24th 1945. Currently 193 member states. The Republic of South Sudan is the 193rd member, joined on July 14th 2011.

General Assembly
Security Council Primary responsibility is to maintain international peace and security. Five Permanent Members with VETO power Ten non-permanent members for two year terms by the General Assembly (with end of the term year )

Security Council Headquarters –New York
India, which has been elected as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, will serve as the president of the powerful 15-nation UN body for the month of August, 2021. The presidency of the Council is held by each of the members in turn for one month, following the English alphabetical order of the member states' names. India in UN Security Council
