About This Presentation

Different types of angles are formed in our eyes and are termed visual angles.

Slide Content

Visual Angles   Angles subtended at the human eye 3 types of angles on the basis of axis of the eye Axis of Human Eye Optical Axis Visual Axis Fixation Axis Pupillary Axis

Optical Axis "The line passing through the center of cornea, lens and the retina is known as the optical axis."

Visual Axis "The line joining the fixation point, nodal point and the fovea is known as the visual axis."

Fixation Axis "The line joining the fixation point and center of rotation point of the eye is known as the fixation axis." Fixation Axis

Pupillary Axis "The line starting from the point of fixation to the center of the pupil is known as pupillary axis."

Angles of the Eye There are 3 angles of the eye: Angle Kappa Angle Alpha Angle Gamma

Angle Kappa "The angle formed between the pupillary axis and visual axis is known as the angle kappa."

Angle Alpha "The angle formed between the optical axis and visual axis at the nodal point is known as the angle alpha."

Angle Gamma "The angle formed between the optical axis and fixation axis at the center of rotation of the eyeball is known as the angle gamma."
