WAYS OF TRANSFERRING DESIGN
1. Hot iron transfer Hot iron transfer is a method of using iron to transfer the design from pattern. These are images that can be imprinted on fabric. They are frequently used to print onto t-shirts after placing the iron-on transfer on the fabric and pressing with an iron or a heat press, the image is transferred to the fabric.
STEPS IN Hot iron transfer 1. Remove excess paper around the design. 2. Place the design on the fabric, then pin the corners. 3. Set flat iron at low setting before pressing it over an area of the design for a new second. 4. Lift the iron then moves it to another area of the design.
2. TRACING METHOD The tracing paper transfer method of marking an embroidery design on fabric using lightweight tissue or tracing paper that you marked with your pattern. It’s also helpful for working on dark or thick fabrics that are difficult to trace through, such as denim or canvas.
STEPS IN TRACING METHOD 1. Paste your design right side up on your fabric then pin at the corners. 2. Using a tracing wheel, cover the lines of the designs. 3. You may use a pencil or any sharp pointed instrument to trace the design.
3. STAMPING METHOD Stamping is a simple but highly effective way of making prints and patterns of fabric. Stamping helps to apply paint in unique designs. In transferring designs by stamping you’ll need soft absorbent cloth.
STEPS IN STAmping METHOD 1. Form a ball made of piece of cloth. 2. Mix coloring and a little bit of kerosene to make a smooth thin paste. This will be your reddish or greenish mixture. 3. Spread sheet of newspaper on a flat surface. Lay the fabrics on the newspapers. 4. Place the perforated pattern side up on the part of the fabric where the design is to be placed then pin the corners of the design.
STEPS IN STAmping METHOD 5. Dip the ball of cloth in reddish mixture. 6. Rub the ball of cloth over the design in one direction only. 7. Lift the one corner to check if the design had been correctly transferred. 8. If the design has been fully transferred, you can remove the perforated pattern.
