Mozilla Firefox Mozilla Firefox – is a free and open source web browserdownloadable from www.mozilla.com/firefox running on Gecko layout engine. Developed by Mozilla Corporation and a second most popular web browser.

Safari Safari – is the web browser for Mac operating system developed and designed by Apple Inc. using WebKit (based on KHTML) engine. It is a native browser for the popular iPhone.

Google Chrome Google Chrome – a very new web browser from Google Inc., the creator of the most popular search engine Google. It was released in the public last December 11, 2008 and the latest version 3 was released September 15, 2009. This version features supports for HTML 5 for video and audio and faster web viewing speed.

Opera Opera – is the fifth most popular we sites as of September 2009 with share of just 1.5 % of the web browser usage. Opera is an Internet suite which includes phishing and malware protection and it downloadable free for personal computers and mobile phones.

Netscape Netscape – was the most popular web browser in the 1990s and its further development has been stopped by it owner AOL ( America Online) who bought Netscape Communications Corporation. The legacy of Netscape is that it is the base code for Mozilla Firefox and partly in Google Chrome .

Flock Flock – is a new web browser that supports Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating system is based on Mozilla Firefox codebase. Flock supports social networking and Web 2.0 facilities and services including Facebook, MySpace , Twitter, Youtube and many others.

Host (Network)

HOST A Network Host is usually a computer or any device that connects to a computer network. It provides information and facilities to other computers and their users. In addition, you can use the term host when there’s two or more computer system that connects through a modem or other internet connection channels.

DOMAIN NAME It is a description of a computer’s location on the Internet. Usually, a dot separates a domain name, for example, www.google.com .

IP ADDRESS An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique set of numbers assigned to a computing device that uses the internet protocol. Also, IP address identifies a device on the Internet communication network. Furthermore, it allows a system to be acknowledged by other systems.

HOMEPAGE Usually, this is the first page you see when you open a website. Additionally, a home page can have one of several different filenames.

URL URL or short for “Universal Resource Locator.” From the name itself, it provides a way of locating a resource on the web. It also serves as a method of retrieving location on a computer network.

SEARCH ENGINE Search Engine is a software system that works to search information on the World Wide Web. Common examples of online search engines are Google, Yahoo, and Bing. These programs allow you to search keywords and phrases to locate information on the Internet.
