GDP is measured to see how a country’s economy health is. GDP per capita or GDP per person is
used to measure the country’s standard of living.
(GDP = The total value Goods + Services) produced in that country in a year.
When the GDP measured experiences positive growth for several quarters in a year, the economy
experiences an expansion (also known as economic boom)
When the GDP shows negative growth, it is considered to experience recession or economic bust
The country with a higher GDP level is considered better than a country with a lower GDP level.
