Natural Resource Natural resources are substances or materials that occur naturally in the environment and can be used for economic gain or other purposes by humans. These resources can be broadly categorized into renewable and non-renewable resources: Renewable Resources : These are resources that can be replenished or replaced relatively quickly by natural processes. Examples include sunlight, wind, water (hydroelectric power), biomass, and forests (if managed sustainably). Non-renewable Resources : These are finite resources that cannot be replenished on a human timescale, or take millions of years to form. Examples include fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), minerals (iron, copper, gold), and non-renewable sources of energy. Natural resources are essential for the functioning of economies and societies, providing raw materials for industries, energy sources, food, and various other products. The sustainable management of natural resources is crucial for ensuring their availability for future generations and minimizing environmental impact.
Renewable and Non renewable Resources Renewable Resources: Solar Energy : Energy derived from sunlight using photovoltaic cells or solar thermal systems. Wind Energy : Energy harnessed from wind using wind turbines to generate electricity. Hydropower : Electricity generated from flowing water, typically in rivers or dams. Geothermal Energy : Heat from beneath the Earth's surface used for heating and electricity generation. Non-Renewable Resources: Fossil Fuels : Coal : A combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock usually occurring in rock strata in layers or veins.
