Why Chatbots will be Vital in the Future of Education? 3

Outline Introduction Educational Landscape Challenges Motivation What Chatbots Are Discussing the Benefits Addressing Potential Concerns 4

Introduction Chatbots are computer programs that simulate conversation with human users. 5

Introduction In today's rapidly evolving world, education is at a crossroads. Task bombarding (many emails and messages everyday) 6

Chatbots NEWS Good News Bad News A person self-published their first book using chatbots[2]. Chatbots Eliminated the need for graphic designers and content providers due to budget constraints. Experts face job losses or competition with chatbot-enhanced workers [3]. Anyone can become a graphic designer or programmer without the burden of expensive training [1]. Chatbots are commonly used by workers or students in schools to complete tasks or cheating [1]. Chatbot responses higher in quality and empathy in comparison with physicians [4] ChatGPT exhibited a tendency to associate certain professions with men rather than women (Fairness problem)[1]. 7

Introduction Teachers How to manage their classes Students How to do assignment How to learn new concept Parents How to help Childs How to coach Childs How to find the answer of questions 8

Introduction College Student Usage: 43% of college students use chatbots. 89% use it for homework, 53% for essays, and 48% for at-home tests. Student Perspectives: Students use chatbots for non-academic problems: anxiety, mental health, friend or family conflicts. Students use chatbots for cheating. 9

Educational Landscape Challenges Challenges Faced by Educators, Institutions, and Learners Educators face challenges in meeting the diverse needs of individual learners, addressing equity gaps, and adapting to technological advancements . Institutions struggle to provide personalized learning experiences at scale while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Learners often lack access to personalized support, engaging learning materials, and immediate feedback . The Need for Innovative Solutions in Education The demand for personalized, engaging, and accessible education necessitates innovative solutions that can address the challenges faced by educators, institutions, and learners. 10

Motivation (Today) Students Using chatbots for Solving problems (Mathematic, Physic, Programming, etc.) Asking every question in every domain every time Personal coaching Personalized training Teachers Using chatbots for Evaluating solutions of students Designing questions Content creation and customization 11

Motivation(Future) Students Learning everything without any shortage Personalized learning No university is required for learning Fast efficient learning process Chatbots as Teachers Automated Curriculum generation Automated Training procedure Variable avatars and interface for every user Questions? Why we need them? How to use them? What are possible fields? 12

Chatbots Capabilities Exam name Grade of Chatbot SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) GPT-4 scored 710 out of 800 on the SAT Reading & Writing section, putting it in the 93rd percentile. For the Math section, it earned a score of 700 out of 800, ranking among the 89th percentile. GRE (Graduate Record Examinations)   GPT-4 scored in the 99th percentile on the verbal section, in the 80th percentile on the quantitative section, and in the 54th percentile on the writing test. Stanford Medical School Clinical Reasoning Final ChatGPT passed the Stanford Medical School clinical reasoning final with an overall score of 72%. AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) Exams Grade of Chatbot: GPT-4 scored a 30 on the AMC 10, placing it between the 6th to 12th percentile, and a 60 on the AMC 12, placing it between the 45th to 66th percentile. 13

Defining Chatbots in Education How Chatbots Function in an Educational Context Chatbots can be integrated into educational platforms, websites, mobile applications. They can 14

Showcasing Successful Use Cases Case Studies and Examples of Institutions Implementing Chatbots A university implements a chatbot to provide personalized course recommendations and academic guidance to students. A school district deploys a chatbot to answer student questions about homework, assignments, and school policies . Example 3: An online learning platform integrates a chatbot to offer 24/7 tutoring support to learners worldwide . 15

Addressing Potential Concerns Acknowledging and Discussing Challenges with Chatbot Implementation Ensuring data privacy and ethical considerations Addressing potential biases in chatbot responses Fostering human-in-the-loop approaches for complex interactions Emphasizing Data Privacy and Ethical Considerations Transparent data collection and usage policies Robust data security measures Ethical guidelines for chatbot interactions 16
