Slide Content

training

Basic Safety Rules Do not climb or stand on equipment, piping, valves, or unstable surfaces(e.g. chairs or barrels) to perform work. Use approved fall protection measures (e.g. personal fall arrest system or scaffolding) if the working height is greater than 1.8m (6ft) from the floor or platform level. Do not run in work area. Do not wear fingers rings, wristwatches, jewelry, loose clothing, unsecured long hair, or loose accessories within an arm's reach of rotating equipment or electrical switchgear. Do not operate equipment having “DANGER,DO NOT OPERATE” tag.

Basic Safety Rules Do not start work in any area, or any equipment, without consent of person in charge. Do not use electrical devices (e.g. mobile phones, smart watches, and instruments) that are not listed as safe use in classified locations without proper approval. Do not engage in horseplay or fighting.

Life Saving Rules Obtain a valid work permit when required. Use proper fall protection when working at height. Follow all traffic safety rules. Obtain authorization before starting excavation activities. Verify isolation before starting any work. Use the required PPEs for your job.

Environment Awareness

Environment The external surroundings in which a person, organization, or system operates, including physical, biological, and psychological factors.

Hazards Noise pollution Air pollution Water pollution Soil contamination Stress Anxiety Depression Vector-borne diseases (e.g., malaria, dengue) Waterborne diseases (e.g., typhoid) Airborne diseases (e.g., COVID-19)

Prevention Implement pollution control measures Use personal protective equipment (PPE) Follow proper waste disposal practices Practice stress management techniques (e.g. exercise) Seek mental health support Foster a supportive work environment Vaccinate against diseases Practice good hygiene (e.g., handwashing, sanitation) Use insect repellents and mosquito nets

Remember Environmental hazards can have significant impacts on human health and well-being. Proactive prevention measures are essential to mitigate these risks and create a safer, healthier environment.

Noise Unwanted sound that can be harmful or disruptive to humans, animals, or the environment.

Hazards Hearing loss (temporary or permanent) Ear damage (e.g., tinnitus, ear pain) Cardiovascular effects (e.g., increased blood pressure) Stress and anxiety Sleep disturbance Decreased productivity and focus Wildlife disturbance and habitat disruption Community noise pollution and nuisance

Prevention Implement noise reduction technologies Use noise-absorbing materials Design quiet spaces Schedule noisy work during less populated times. Provide noise training and education Wear earplugs or earmuffs Take regular breaks in quiet areas

Incidents At Workplace

Fire Fire is a chemical reaction between fuel oxygen & required amount of heat and during this reaction heat and light produces

For initial level of fire Check the wind direction Stay 2 meters away from fire Hold fire extinguisher PASS

For high level Call civil defense 998 Say this is emergency Provide location Provide nature of emergency ( fire) Provide your name Provide phone number (if possible) Repeat above information and answer Don’t hang up the phone until you are told to do so.

H2S It is a poisonous & corrosive gas that can destroy life in very low concentration.

Highly toxic Colorless Soluble in water Upton 1ppm smell like rotten egg 10ppm beginning of eye irritation, 20-30 irritation, coughing, loss of sense of smell. 50ppm effect on pulse & respiratory effect 100ppm IDLH. ( Immediately dangerous to life or health) Characteristics

Personal H2S Gas Monitor

How To Evacuate Stop the work Stop the equipment if possible Look at windsock for wind direction Go cross wind direction until h2s alarm stops Call emergency 911/998/997
