HAND STRETCH UP POSE:
1. EASY SITTING POSE (SUKHASANA): The easy sitting pose is one of the easier poses to do, hence the name. It involves sitting up straight with the legs crossed; many kids know this as the “crisscross applesauce.”
BENEFITS OF THIS POSE INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Promoting relaxation Increasing focus Correcting posture Strengthening the muscles in the back Increasing flexibility in the hips and legs Decreasing stress This pose can be practiced while taking deep, calming breaths or while focusing on a specific thought or image.
LOTUS POSE (PADMASANA): Resting, Meditating (Sit with a tall spine, cross your legs, and rest the palms of your hands on your knees. Relax and breathe.)
This posture calms the otherwise restless brain, helps to concentrate & is an ideal stance for meditation . It also helps keep the spine straight thus developing a proper sitting position.
BUTTERFLY POSE:
Use Butterfly Pose to help regulate breathing, by having kids focus on Belly Breathing as they wiggle their antennae and gently flap their wings. Children will feel calmer, as they relieve stress and fatigue during this pose.
ROCK AND ROLL:
The benefits of boat pose: Boat pose encourages social and communication skills, by moving & playing with friends. The rocking action promotes sitting balance & posture. Rowing back and forth provides a gentle hamstring stretch ,Core muscles, abdominal, spinal, shoulder & pelvic muscles will be activated.
Benefits of Cat pose: Gently massages the spine, increasing mobility. Stretches the back and neck. A great warm up before yoga practice paired with Cow pose. Increases circulation of spinal fluid. Strengthens the muscles the hands and wrists.
BENEFITS: Develops balance . Increases concentration. Strengthens the legs, thighs, groin and core. Strengthens posture.
The benefits of mountain pose: Refine balance skills through sensations. Practice 'patterns of movement' needed for balance. Increase awareness of the body. Improve concentration & calm. Better body alignment & posture. Getting a mountain ticket role play for older children. Work as a team to make a mountain range.
Calms central nervous system, aiding the digestive and immune systems. Calms the mind and reduces stress. Reduces headache, fatigue and anxiety. Helps lower blood pressure. Promotes spiritual awakening and awareness of higher consciousness .
