What will happen to the ball if it will roll on top of the table?
What happens when the ball rolls against the surface? What causes the ball to suddenly stop from rolling?
Why do you think the ball suddenly stop from rolling/ moving after sometime?
How will you compare the movement of the ball on the grassy surface and a ball on a wooden surface?
Why these objects slow down or stop as they move along different surfaces?
What is FRICTION?
Friction is a force that resists/ opposes the motion of one object against another . All objects moving on a specific surface stop at different rates because of an opposing force called FRICTION.
Direction: Choose the letter of the correct answer. 1.What do you think will happen to a ball after you kicked it on a grassy field? a. It will continue moving. b. It will move, slows down then stop. c. It will stay at rest. d. It will disappear.
2. In which of the following surfaces an object will roll or move faster? A. grassy area b. sand area c. glass area d. gravel
3. In which of the following surfaces a moving object will reach the shortest distance before it stops? a. Glass b. Sand c. Cemented floor d. tiles
4. Which of the following statements is /are CORRECT ? I. All objects moving on a speficic surface stop at different rates. II.A ball with either slows down or stops after you kicked on a field. III. There is no force required to move an object. a. I and II only b. I and III only c. II and III only d. I, II and III
5. Which of the following words will make the statement correct? “You don’t need to constantly push or pull an object for it to move or ________”? a. Stop b. Disappear c. Roll d. Fly

Assignment: How friction and gravity affect movements of different objects?
