What do we mean by FAMILY RESOURCES ?
What do we mean by FAMILY RESOURCES ? This includes: Money things non-working members of the family may possess energy, time, and skills
Resources are a stock or supply of money, materials, staff, and other assets that can be drawn on by a person or organization in order to function effectively.
Management is the act or manner of managing; handling, direction, or control.
* Is Management of Resources important? Why
Management is important. Example is in the management of time. Time is in the category of nonmaterial. Time is gold. It is a God- given gift that must be valued and used wisely. Time is short and once lost, cannot be regained. Proper time management can bring good results.
Happiness and security for having accomplished something very important for the day; More time to spend for family members after accomplishing the planned activity; and More time to attend to other constructive activities and worthwhile projects.
Time can be managed properly by scheduling activities wisely. Make plan for every activity. Routinize some activities based on available time and how often these tasks have to be done. The preparation of a realistic daily time schedule is a helpful management tool to help the students identify and prioritize activities.

Types of Family Resources Human Resources Every able-bodied member of the family is considered an important human resource. People who can contribute their time, effort, skills, strength, and expertise is considered part of the family’s human resource.
Human Resources a. Abilities and skills, both native and acquired. The ability to solve mathematical problems and the skills, for example, to bake a cake are important resources of this type.
Human Resources B. Attitudes, which includes ideas, opinions, inclinations, biases, and feelings toward something. A positive attitude toward work is important for one to succeed in any undertaking. With a positive attitude, satisfaction is easy to achieve. Less effort is exerted, less time is spent, and one is happy with one’s work.
Human Resources C. Knowledge includes facts and information. Success in doing an activity requires knowledge of what the activity is and how it is to be done. Baking a cake requires knowledge of baking terms for one to understand and carry out instructions.
Human Resources D. Energy or the capacity to do work. Members of the family must be in good health and have a sound mind and body to be able to do their assigned work effectively.

Human resources are the abilities, knowledge, attitudes, and energy of family members. These help families achieve goals and solve daily problems.

Types of Family Resources 2. Material Resources - are the things and elements that are available to the family and to everyone. Tangible assets such as house and lot, furniture and appliances, jewelry, automobiles, and cash are referred to as the family’s material resources.
Types of Family Resources 2. Material Resources Time- made up of short and long periods. It is usually measured in terms of clock time-seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, etc.
Types of Family Resources 2. Material Resources Money- is the purchasing power that helps one acquire needed goods and services. The peso, our Philippine currency, is used as an exchange medium for goods and services.
Types of Family Resources 2. Material Resources Goods and property can be durable, nonperishable, or perishable. These include food items, furniture, appliances, tools, and equipment owned and used by the family.

Below are some helpful reminders or tips to simplify work at home. • Identify and analyze each activity. Not everything has to be done every day. Plot the activities that can be done daily, weekly, or monthly. The following is an example of how to plan activities so as not to overwork the household and allow for other activities to be included during the day.

Skills and interests of family members. Allow members of the family to express their preferred task according to their interests and skills. Rotation of tasks can be implemented on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. Consider the health, age, and abilities of each member. Assign tasks based on the availability of the members. Coordination among all the family members for the improvement of family resources to ensure attainment of all goals.
