INTRODUCTION Delhi- The capital city of India has much more to offer than just mouth watering food and political gossips. The city has been evolving since time immemorial. With infamous Delhi Sultanate ruling the city to now the administration being in the hands of Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi has witnessed major political turmoil. Though the journey of Delhi from Indraprastha has caused significant changes to the city's political spirit, infrastructure and administration but the soul of the city is still intact in its historical places. INDIA GATE Build by the Britishers to pay homage to soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War-I, this monument is a war memorial located in the heart of the city. the major attraction of this place is Amar Jawan Jyoti, statute of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose and National War Memorial.

2. RED FORT Famously known as Lal Quila, this historical monument was constructed under the aegis of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1639 and served as a place of residence. This place is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

3. QUTUB MINAR Located in the Mehrauli area of South Delhi, is a minaret and "victory tower" that forms part of the Qutb complex It was mostly built between 1199 and 1220, contains 399 steps, and is one of the most visited tourist spots in the city. It is also a UNESCO World Hertitage Site.

4. Humayun Tomb It was built in the 1560’s, with the patronage of Humayun’s son, the great Emperor Akbar. Persian and Indian craftsmen worked together to build the garden-tomb, far grander than any tomb built before in the Islamic world.The tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

5. JAMA MASJID Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built the Jama Masjid between 1650 and 1656.The mosque was one of the last monuments built under Shah Jahan. After its completion, it served as the royal mosque of the emperors until the end of the Mughal period.

6. Raj Ghat It is a memorial complex in Delhi, India. The first memorial was dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where a black marble platform was raised to mark the spot of his cremation on 31 January 1948 and consists of an eternal flame at one end.

7. Jantar Mantar Located in the modern city of New Delhi. Jantar Mantar means instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The site is one of five built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur.

8. Lodhi Gardens One of the prominent historical places in Delhi, is a tranquil oasis that spans 90 acres in the heart of the city. Renowned for its lush landscapes, ancient tombs, and architectural marvels from the Lodhi dynasty, the garden offers a serene escape from the urban bustle.

9. Agrasen ki Baoli Located in the heart of Delhi, is one of the captivating historical places in Delhi. This centuries-old stepwell is known for its impressive architecture and intricate design, serving as a testament to the city's rich historical heritage.
