TASK DESCRIPTION
HIRA TEAM MEMBERS
• Welding face shield to be worn by welder & BL-5C or similar
type glass to be used by the welder’s helper while carried out
the welding activities.
• Use of proper PPEs, like safety helmet, ear plug, safety
shoes, Leather hand gloves, leather apron, Leather hand
sleeves, welding face shield, etc.
• All mobile electrical equipment shall be fitted with appropriate
ELCB
• Use approved cable joints for joining cables
• Arrangement to be done for exhausts the welding fumes.
• Hot work booth to be made by the fire retardant tarpaulin/ GI
sheet for welding activities.
• Don't use damaged electrical cables.
• Visual inspection to be carried out prior to start the welding.
• Authorized welders should do welding works.
• Welding buds to be collected and returned to store.
• X-ray test to be carried out for the welders.
• Don’t touch hot metal with bared hand. Use leather hand
gloves for the same.
• All combustible material shall be removed from welding
operation
• Fire extinguishers shall be provided next to welding site
• Ensure All earth connections are proper
• Adequate ventilation shall be provided
• Non-involved persons shall be kept away from the area

• Proper gas cylinder storage should be arranged.
• All gas cylinders shall be fitted with approved & certified gas
regulators with valid calibration certificates.
• Standard FBA shall be used
• Flash back arrester should be fixed on both sides of the set
(Torch & Cylinder side).
• Trained fire watcher should available at workplace.
• Fire extinguisher to be kept nearby.
• Workplace shall clear from combustibles.
• Ensure cylinder trolley and cylinder to be tied with metallic
chain.
• Cylinder hose and regulators shall be in good condition.
• Leak test to be carried out with soap solution prior to use.
• Avoid cylinder direct under sunlight.
• Kept compressed gas cylinder upright position.
• Don’t drag or roll the cylinder while shifting. Use cylinder
trolley for the same.
• Double pressure gauge to be fitted with both the cylinder.
• Daily checklist to be filled by the gas cutter.
