To improve mobility of soft tissues. To reduce muscle spasm and pain. To reduce edema. To increase circulation. To mobilize secretions in the lung. To induce local and general relaxation.
To improve mobility of soft tissues. To and fro movement of massage mechanically breaks down the adhesion and facilitates the free movement of adherent structure. Various conditions:- Tendinitis Tenosynovitis Fibrositis Muscular injury Ligament sprain Post surgical scar Post burns contracture Pre and postoperative cases in plastic, and reconstructive surgery
To reduce muscle spasm and pain. Based on Melzack and wall’s theory of pain gait. Mechanical movement of massage stretches the individual fiber of soft tissue and reduce their pain. Removal of metabolic waste products Stimulation of peripheral sensory receptors inhibition of pain sensation Various conditions:- Unspecified back pain Fibrositis Post exercise muscle soreness
To reduce edema. Accumulation of tissue fluid in extracellular space. By increasing venous and lymphatic drainage.
