15 Weeks Pregnant : Baby Can Sense The Light

At this week your baby’s size is of an apple. During the 15th week, the baby can sense the light and reacts by moving away from the light source when the tummy is shined by a flashlight.

Your baby’s height is 4.5 inches and weighs 2.6 ounces.

The placenta is controlling the fluid balance in your baby’s tiny body and shuttling waste products out into your system.

Your baby’s urinary system is now developed to produce tiny amounts of pee. The pancreas also begin to secrete insulin.

Facial muscles are flexing and hence baby can exhibit grimace or wince.

The baby’s skin is very thin and translucent that you can actually see the blood vessels through it.

Though the external ears are not in the right place, your baby has already developed his/her sense of hearing.

The ears are in the process of moving towards the nose from the sides at 15 th week and eyebrows are starting to develop. The eyelids remain shut but the baby can sense light.

If someone shines a flashlight at a pregnant mother’s tummy, the baby moves away from the beam . The bones are ossified and apparent.
