Last year I celebrated Halloween, on October 3lst,
with rny hmily and friends. My mum bought a
pumpkin and we cut a scary hce in it and put it in
the window. My friends and I went trick-or-treating
in the afternoon. We wore scary costumes and went
from house to house and people gave us sweets. In
the evening, I had a Halloween costume party'. My
mum and I decorated our house. We tied black and
orange balloons to the back of the chairs and put old
horror film posters on the walls. My mum made
pizza and some sandwiches. My friends arrived at
eight o'clock. Everyone sat in the living room and ate
some food and drank some lemonade. Then we
played party games. My favourite game was apple
bobbing. We put some apples in a bucket of water
and tried to take an apple from the water with our
teeth. I got all wet but I didnt catch any apples!
Later, we had a costume contest and we voted for
the best costume. I took lots of pictures of my
friends. My party was a huge success and everyone
had lots of fun.

Subject: Summer plans!
Hi Sandy!
How are you? l'm fine and l've got some great news. My friend Erica and I are planning our summer
holiday, and we've decided to go to Menorca, a Spanish island! Can you imagine? Two whole weeks on
this beautiful Mediterranean island! lt's going to be fantastic! We're both very excited and keep thinking
about all the different things that we're going to do once we're there!
Both Erica and I love the sea and the sun, so we are going to spend a lot of time on the beach. We're
going to do as many things there as possible! We're going to go windsurfing and, of course, we're
going to sunbathe for hours! We can also go jet skiing and sailing. Erica also wants to go scuba diving,
but I'm not goinF to join her, because l'm afraid of being underwater for so long.
We're also going to go sightseeing, and learn as much as possible about the rich history and culture
of Menorca. We are certainly going to attend some of the local fiestas and try some of the famous local
cheese, called 'Formatge de Mao.'
It's going to be a great holiday and we can't wait to go! What about you? What are you going to do for
the summer holiday? You can join us if you want, you know! Write soon and tell me what you think!
I have to go now. l'm going to buy a present for my sister's party tomorrow.
Love,
Louise
