2025 Promotion Exercise for Academic Staff in SBMS, FUTA BY Prof. T.T. Amos DVCA, FUTA

Introduction This promotion is about YOU Your assessment will be based on your presentation You will not be at the meeting where your assessment is done, and therefore there will be no opportunity for you to provide more clarifications Your Dean might not be at the Sub-Committee meetings Many staff are being assessed for promotion and therefore Committee members have no patience for poorly packaged submissions You must get your documents ready before the call for submissions 2025 Promotion Exercise for Academic Staff in SBMS

Very poor submissions from many academic staff Many submissions portray carelessness or sheer incompetence The poor quality of many submissions suggests that those concerned are not ripe or ready for promotion this year If nothing is done to improve the quality of the submissions, many academic staff being put up for promotion may fail at the central A&PC meeting Marginal Cases do not have good Chance of Success Findings from previous A&PC meetings 2025 Promotion Exercise for Academic Staff in SBMS

Inconsistency in font type and size Inconsistency in line spacing Very poor quality of photocopies Very narrow margins in photocopied materials (some letters were cut off) Failure to use the prescribed template Publications are roughly numbered or not numbered at all Listing of publications in the APER form is different from the numbering of the papers Insufficient publications Specific Problems 2025 Promotion Exercise for Academic Staff in SBMS

Be familiar with the rules guiding promotion Don’t compare yourself with others Making neat copies can be costly; be ready to spend The quality of your submissions define you, so be sure you don’t shoot yourself down Don’t be a borderline case; get more papers beyond the required minimum You don’t need to lobby anybody for your promotion; let your submissions speak for you Points to note 2025 Promotion Exercise for Academic Staff in SBMS
