beSeedInspectorsanddefinetheareaswithin
whichtheyshallexercisejurisdiction
EverySeedInspectorshallbedeemedtobea
publicservantwithinthemeaningofsection21
oftheIndianPenalCode(45of1860)andshallbe
officiallysubordinatetosuchauthorityasthe
StateGovernmentmayspecifyinthisbehalf

Inspectasfrequently
Satisfyhimselfasperthecertificate
procedureandsendforanalysis
Investigateanycompliant,maintainrecordof
allinspections

conveying,deliveringorpreparingtodeliver
suchseedtoapurchaseroraconsignee
b)SendsuchsampleforanalysistotheSeed
Analystfortheareawithinwhichsuchsample
hasbeentaken
c)Enterandsearchatallreasonabletimes-
offenceunderthisAct

d.)Examineanyrecord,register,documentor
anyothermaterial
Whereanysampleofanyseedofany
notifiedkindorvarietyistakenunderclause
(a)ofsub-section(1),itscost,calculatedatthe
rateatwhichsuchseedisusuallysoldtothe
public,shallbepaidondemandtotheperson
fromwhomitistaken

Ifanyperson-
(a)contravenesanyprovisionofthisActoranyrule
madethereunder;or
(b)preventsaSeedInspectorfromtakingsample
underthisAct;or
(c)preventsaSeedInspectorfromexercisingany
otherpowerconferredonhimbyorunderthisAct;
(d)heshall,onconviction,bepunishable-
(i)forthefirstoffencewithfinewhichmayextendto
fivehundredrupees
intheeventofsuchpersonhavingbeenpreviously
convictedofanoffenceunderthissection,with
imprisonmentforatermwhichmayextendtosix
months,orwithfinewhichmayextendtoone
thousandrupees,orwithboth.
Penalty
